  1. Ok, so let's say I've heard such things as ' you can't turbo a n/a motor' and 'bad things'. Now let's say I'm from Missouri and I need to know more. What happens? Specifics appreciated. And for number two, again, for a friend..., If my engine already "gets more air than it needs", what if I give it more fuel to....'use' this air'? And for three and final, I love my legacy, why everyone says they are shit? Just cause it doesn't have a turbo, it can't be messed with at all? Full engi,...no wait, full drive train swap is the only way to make it better? I call bullshit...so if you could please let me know about 1 and 2 that would be great. Thanks guys. God I'm stubborn, sorry.
  2. Burping is rather important for these pressure systems. I had an issue after a thermo swap, would get hot sitting, then cool as I drive, I'd pull over, make sure resevior is full, undo rad cap about 1/4 turn and let Er rip. Don't open to much or you will suffer extreme burns. I promise you this!
  3. Excuse my newb question, I use shock as is off the outback and take the mounts from the outback as well? Meh, I guess this is where YouTube is my friend. Thank you super much. About the brake system. What bolts right on?
  4. So about the rears.....I may have to buy spacers to raise to level out? So 05-07 outback struts will bolt right in. Any ideal of the lift height? Off topic, any idea if the 05 impreza exhaust will fit my 04? And what is mutant edition? I need to know.
  5. Ok, I think I finally grasp the concept that I can not gain much power from Scubie. /Facepalm . So, let's move to suspension... Best for cheapest struts for an 04 legacy nt ? Best ball joints and tie rods? Sway links? I'm doing good on tires.... could use a full set of 4 but I have 2 pairs within .4mm of each other and was told by the Subaru specialist it is fine. But if I can't go faster, I must go deeper.......in the woods. Lol. Enter every one yelling at me about how Subaru is for light off road only. I know, tell it to my muffler that scrapes to reassure me that I had better take it easy, damn saggy butt. Deep puddles and muddy or Stony trails....or 6 foot tall grass to make a bed for your tent (pics on Instagram) and mud pits you would think twice about in your Jeep. LMAO.
  6. Ok ok. I wasn't trying to argue, I'm just a bit stubborn at times. Hate hearing no. Lol Btw, just a side note. I live in Buffalo NY, the place where you car value gains appreciation as it survives another winter. That's not true at all but you get what I'm saying here. Let's talk suspension....new thread.....
  7. Ok, so we are clear....I'm not trying to have the fastest legacy around or even close to it. Just looking towards exhaust and cold air. I was curious if there were a few other motor things I actually can do for just a bit more pep. I'd prefer not to blow it up at 143k miles. I was thinking about a different intake manifold if it was possible. But if not, I'll just take mine off and paint it. What is the exhaust interchange list? Can I use exhaust manifold from an impreza? Found some decent pipes but........... Gut front cats and remove resonator? (I am after that Subaru sound, all deep and aggressive like and such(I am fully aware this is not a WRX STI and will never be without a 10k dollar full drive train swap)) Can you link me the best, cheapest struts? Finally, if you actually want to see Scubie, @Seven1Sicko on Instagram. It's not private, you don't have to follow it or sign up to see pics.
  8. You said plugs twice, you said coil, how's about wires? I got the blue ngk lifetime warranty ones If not wires, then I'd think about a vacuum leak. Then if it's not that, then I would think timing. Btw, pretty sure that is the best time to do a head gasket replace, even if it looks ok, save the old one or sell it.
  9. Ok, I have the following: Time - some Money - eh...moving on Skill - can change the subbie motor in 2-3 days depending on the weather and the gf. Knowledge - that's why I'm here...."if you think you know everything, you know nothing". Let's get away from the turbo....ehsnils is right, bad ideal. How do I get 'Scubie' a bit better? Anything besides exhaust and cold air intake (which I hear is pointless unless it's right in the direct wind (which my subbie has a plastic that directs air directly to the box(which I removed the plastic 'guard' from the hood))) ? I hear suspension is the only real thing you can do to these 35th's but that's hard to believe. Help me if you can.
  10. Ok, so I imagine it's all Subaru's, but why is it when I let off the gas the car wants to slow down? Is it engine drag? Tranny drag? Just did new bearings and brakes so I know it's not that, also new struts and tires recently. So why the drag? I mean to compensate, I usually just pop to nuetral. Also, what are the cons of driving with my FWD fuse in all the time? (It's not in, just asking).
