  1. Just wondering does anyone know if there is a time limit to getting one of these TSB's done or does it go by the actual history of the vehicle? In my case I believe I have coverage on the drive train up to 100K. I have not gone to the dealer yet though.
  2. I just did mine along with the Subaru 3 horn upgrade. No fitment issues what so ever.
  3. I started out with the OEM 18's on my 2015 3.6R. By the end of our first NJ winter I had to replace all 4 tires due to pot hole contact. [Glad I bought the extended Tire Warranty] I decided that maybe I should change the rims and tires since I wanted to cut down on some of the chrome. I found some black rims and tires at tirerack.com but in order to find the right combination I used a Tire Size Comparison Calculator at https://tiresize.com/comparison/ which gave me a pictorial representation of the comparison. I found going from a stock 225/50/18 to a 235/55/17 setup the difference is negligible. One other benefit was an increased side wall which made the ride smoother and hitting potholes less of a problem for the tires themselves.
  4. I finally bit the bullet and installed a JDM Subaru Sports Grille and Subaru 3 horn upgrade kit. Took half the day but its done. I bought the kits locally from SMY Performance. If anyone else is interested here are the direct links: JDM Subaru Triple Horn Kit: https://smyperformance.com/jdm-subaru-triple-horn-kit-400hz-500hz-600hz-2015-2019-legacy-outback.html JDM Subaru Sports Grille 2015-2017 Legacy & Outback: https://smyperformance.com/jdm-subaru-sports-grille-2015-2017-legacy-outback.html They also offer Military / First Response Discounts. DISCLAIMER: I do not work for or know these folks personally, I am just a happy and satisfied customer.
  5. Thank Doug for the advise I plan to do just that and get back to putting the car in the garage before the cold weather returns.
  6. Thank you Silverton for the explanation... so my Legacy ends with F3016430... so this TBS is not related to my car then?
  7. Thank you all for your insight. We did have several days of near zero temps here and due to a project in progress the car was out in it instead of in the garage. I will clean off the oil as you all have suggested and see where it goes from here. I checked TSB 16-103-16R and the listed Sarting VIN for the Legacy does not seem to include my model. Mine does not start with L3002280... Maybe I am reading it wrong? If it turns out to be this any experience on the repair costs? Thanks again
  8. Good morning, Finally got to user my Quickjacks to do an oil change on my 2015 Subaru 3.6R. With the new lift having access to the whole underside of the car was nice all be it on my back. Anyway I found the transmission pan to be damp with what looks like engine oil. Pics attached:. Anyone see this before and what should I be looking to do next? Car just turned 78500 miles. Thanks
  9. I would have to look back in my records but I believe I had this issue in mine early on when I bought her. I believe its a oil sensor that is supposed to measure the oil pressure, each side has one. IMMS in my case the passenger side one was slower to respond then the driver side one causing the fault. I will look back and see if I can find the original paperwork as it was 7 years back. I may have even posted it here in this forum but it was on the old site. Not sure if access to all the old posts is available.
  10. I received and email today from Subaru of America titled Update your Subaru maps now with a 20% discount!. I have yet to update my system to the last update that is available in the NEW Nav firmware update 11-21-16 for 15 and 16 Legacy. The instructions use your computer and require you to remove the SSD card to perform the map updates. The update costs $59 which is in line with my Garmin map updates that I still buy. You can also purchase a new SSD for $119 + Shipping and Tax. With the 20% off coupon that is not a bad option. I just ran over the installation doc and noted the following: Update Your Navigation Maps- For SD Card Equipped Vehicles (Most Subaru Vehicles Before 2018 Model Year) Go to : https://here.navigation.com/brands/Catalog/Catalog_Subaru/en_US/HERENA/USD Search for your vehicle and view available update options. Some vehicles will only offer the ability to purchase a new SD card. Most vehicles will offer the option to download to the existing SD card. If your vehicle is a non-SD card model, you will be routed to the appropriate site and instructions. If your vehicle is less than 3 years old, any available updates will be free to download. For vehicles, older than 3 years, you will be prompted to purchase a map update. I have attached the PDF How to Guide from the link in the email. The Subaru Toolbox link in the email can be found here: Subaru Toolbox Gen2-Navigation-Map-Update-How-To-Guide.pdf
  11. So I thought I would share the results for this Error code. As it happened for a 3rd time I pulled the following codes and dropped the car off at the dealer. They found that the issue was with a Intake Oil Switching Valve on Bank 2. Being that I purchased the Gold Protection Plan what would have been a dealer bill of about $500 came to my deductable of $100 + Tax. Incidentally the part cost online between $82 and $105 respectively. From the looks of the schematic it might be something you could replace on your own... hope this helps someone else. 12. Good morning Neighbor and welcome aboard...I went a little different direction with my setup as I wanted to gain some lift so I first installing a 2 in lift then opted for a set of snow tires GENERAL ALTIMAX ARCTIC 12 on a smaller 17 HELO HE894 rim. Now for the summer I wanted something a little more aggressive so I went with Falken WILDPEAK A/T TRAIL tires on the same 17 in HELO HE894 rims. You did not say what size rim's you have, mine came with the 18 ins so you can get these for your OEM size. I also wanted more sidewall for a smoother ride then I was getting with the 18in OEMs. I am happy with the A/Ts there is a low level wine sometimes when I travel I287 in some spots otherwise I am very happy with them. I still plan to switch to snows for the winter but with the A/Ts I don't have to since they are snow rated. Hope this helps.
  13. I do mine now at home as well unless I happen to be in the dealer getting something else done then I might consider it.
  14. Did a search here but could not find anything - So this is the second time this has happened where I was driving along to 70 with cruse on and all of a sudden it shuts off and Eye Sight and all electronics are off. Earlier in the day I filled up the tank and had the coolant flushed in the morning by a mechanic nothing else seems to be wrong. The complete code reads: P000C - Intake (A) Camshaft Position Slow Response Bank 2 I have the 3.6R model and was wondering if anyone else has seen this issue? I am still under extended warranty and just wondering if I should go back to the dealer after reading this explanation: P000C A Camshaft Position Slow Response Bank 2 The last time it happened I went straight to the dealer they told me it could be dirt built on on the sensor and that since I was due for an oil change to do that and see what happens. I use synthetic oil. Thansk
