  9. All that is needed is a trim piece with a larger bulb. In fact, if GS wanted to be great to the OBXT guys they would offer this specifically for our fitment. I am still trying to source said trim but I got GS to send me the specs on the standard trim so I know what to move up from. Now that I have been living with the TMIC and looking very carefully I really like the design and fitment.
  10. In addition, there was nothing attached in place of the front bracket mounting point and I just re-used the OE bolts...with a little anti-seize.
  11. Well, it did not looked creased at all to me like how it looks now but yeah, I bent it back up. Glad the mounting points have the wiggle thanks to the rubber isolators. Took the car for a spin and the first pull popped off the TB hose. I stopped following directions and things got better. I marked the alignment of the TB hose and then took the whole TMIC off and secured the TB hose to the intercooler first using two hose clamps (note: I think this should be a much winder, single clamp since the force of the air pushes down on that hose anyhow). It slid in place on the TB super easy with some lube and now holds 18psi just fine. Sweet. So, now the issue is the splitter. Has anyone with an Outback used the mentioned spacer solution? I question that alignment with a spacer since all the hoses now align just right as is. The rear seals and I don't see there being slack enough on the hoses to just space-up the front (esp. the TB hose which is kinda flat anyhow). I guess there is only one way to find out. I do have a bunch of washers laying around after taking off the Perrin! I am also going to see if there is a larger option for the wrap-around gasket.
  12. I would say this does not fit the Outback XT. Two main issues: 1) On my 2009, the fire-wall mounting point that uses the 10mm bolt? That body panel is bent flat vertial and therefore I had to bend it up to horizontal to get the plane of the bolt/bracket where it needed to be. This messed up all the other alignments and took hours of bending, pulling and fighting with everything else. The throttle body inet will likely not stay on long-term under boost. In other words, all the R&D that Grimmspeed did to keep such things from happening happened on my platform anyhow. 2) The front of the splitter misses the intercooler by over an inch. To me this completely undermines the point of paying for a system that comes with a splitter. It also means that only about 1/4 of the splitter actually seals with the intercooler b/c of the angle. The only plus side so far is that the intercooler is higher off the engine so does not bang into things which was the main motivation for replacing the Perrin in the first place.
