titsataki
Go for a testdrive. I sat in the new TL at the autoshow and I was impressed. Car felt very nice. You live in Ca so the AWD is not so critical (little rain, no snow). I am on the same boat but I like the Volvo S60R. I sat in the dealership yesterday and it feels very nice. They have a black with the darker 18 inchers that make those brembo's even more kool looking :) LOL my wife said go ahead and price insurance for it. 8) (although she says we are not buying a car...) :? gtguy
AWD adds traction and stability even in the dry. The Legacy is never going to be an Acura TL. If you like that car, and it's a very nice car, btw. get the Acura and drive happy. Just get a picture of the back of a Legacy and tape it to your dash, so that you can get used to it. Nick, don't make any decisions until you test-drive that Volvo. The handling isn't all that hot, apparently. But man, those seats are niiice, and it's a very well-equipped car, though a bit spendy for me. Skylab
My dad might get the TL. We sat in one...very nice interior...it felt similar to the BMW 325, but with better visibility out the windshield. Back seats feel like a leather couch...very squishy...like you sink into them. The DVD NAV system is insane...one for being so advanced in word recognition, two...its an $1,800 option!
legacy2ner
Most likly im going to be doing canyon runs with my friends so is the TL any good for that. Keep in mind i have to keep up with a Z, WRX, Supra, and a IS
PPower
The TL looks to be a great car, but I wouldn't put it in the class with those other cars. I think you'd better wait for the Legacy.
SUBE555
If the Legacy is so close, why not wait the few months and make the correct choice, whichever it is instead of potentially making the wrong one and kicking yourself in the butt every time you see one? AMT4SWA
I drove the new TL and I really liked the new interior and I love the XM radio, but the driving of the car was just ok for me. That damn FWD with all that horsepower is such a waste, and the car felt very heavy to me in the steering feel. This car is a luxu-crusier (now like a Lexus GS), and the TSX is the Acura product that has more of an IS300 feel (just without any decent power/torque...and that darn FWD only again???). If Acura put AWD and some power in the TSX, then they would have a true Legacy competitor. I actually like the drive and steering feel of the TSX way more than the new TL. The new TL is a wonderful car for my wife...not the car for me, I want a sedan that I feel like I could throw on a British Touring Car road course and give her heck....not "understeer push" at every corner like the new TL.

dark_rex
i think the trim level of the TL will far surpass the LGT, but the legacy should be a better driving experience. acura is know for great LSDs though, and all the car rags love the handling, and can't believe it's a FWD. something to consider. dR

AMT4SWA
Honda builds an AWD Accord (the TSX here) for the overseas market, if they built an AWD Acura TSX and/or TL they would probably grow sales by at least 20% for these cars if not more. Sometimes the automakers confuse me here in the U.S. ??? I would have bought a TSX or TL in a second if it had AWD or even RWD for the TL (270 HP). I will say that the TSX turbocharged with an AWD system would be one heck of a great car for Honda/Acura (my several times driving the TSX leaves a great driving impression in my mind from a steering/handling stand point...needs about 40 to 60 more Hp though). Hands down for me, GT over TL is "Purpose"! The GT will feel as it has a purpose while driving it through the beautiful rolling hill roads of west Austin...The TL never gave me that feeling while driving. The TL always felt like I was driving some luxu-cruiser who's main mission was to float me along (at a good clip...don't get me wrong) in executive polish (not bad either). I want some "Boy Racer" (my current IS300 definitely gives me that) feel to whatever car I drive, and I want a car that is biased in ALL departments to the enthusiast at heart...I feel the GT will be just this car for me!!! :D
PPower
AMT4SWA, check out this Autoweek article on a 300hp AWD Acura RL. If they put the hybrid technology to add 75hp to the rear of a TSX, that would make quite a contender. High revving, 275hp, and good fuel economy would make for a big impact. AMT4SWA
Big electric motor next to the gas tank (in the rear)...sounds scary to me so far!!! :o I want at least 5 to 7 years of this type of platform to be sold before I would buy. In the mean time, just give me a great dinosaur juice burning AWD turbo powered car for my fun! :P
HomerJay
I test drove a TL and it's a pretty nice ride. If you want luxery, go for the TL. It's nicely appointed inside and the autoshift isn't too bad in the TL. I'd go for the TL. Bare in mind, nobody is giving deals on those. MSRP is what you'll pay, which is almost $40k w/ everything. Tin_pusher
I priced a fully loaded TL with the Nav system for 34k. Pretty good deal.

PPower
team23, I would have agreed about the style until we got those bumpers. Now I'd have to say I prefer the TL styling better. In a race, at least the TL can look good losing.
SUBE555
I think the USDM Legacy looks great, I don't mind the bumpers. After all, it really is no different than the previous. Regardless, I'd rather be winning than go home a loser in a more posh car. Just my 1.99 cents.

Tin_pusher
If the TL was AWD I would buy it tomorrow. I just want a damn car that has AWD, 250+hp, HID's, nice styling and a Nav system!! Is that really asking too much?
AMT4SWA
Hey...the Audi A6 2.7TT Quattro! That is the exact car my wife is now pushing me to buy for her. HID's/Nav/AWD/250 Hp/OnStar/and that beautiful Audi cabin!!! DARN WOMEN...SPOILED AS HECK!!!

AMT4SWA
Pushing $40,000 here at a dealership in Austin (big discount...surprised me actually for an Audi Dealership). I think because the A6 restyle is coming out soon that the A6 sales are starting to drop off. I really like the Audi maintenance plan also...good for my wifes vehicle that she will drive most of the time. Dolphin Gray with Ebony leather interior (darn why can't LLTEK carry a body kit for this car  www.lltek.com ).
Tin_pusher
I guess I should have mentioned the price too. $35k is what I want to spend. The Audi is nice, a little too expensive, and IMO they have some reliability issues as well.
