Tide
My favorite amps come from Zapco. People always underestimate them. Nothing like a $600 50-watt amp that can run 8 speakers and sound crystal clear. :) http://www.zapco.com/
team23jordan
never heard of'em but i used to have pioneer amp and they weren't that good and then i had JL and they were just  :D are they any better than JL?? they sure seems like better deal to me if they r a good amp Perrin BIG maf intake Perrin Turbo Inlet HKS SSQV BOV Megan Racing header with UP (ceramic coated) HKS DP (WRX) DMH E-cutout Custom 3" catback UTEC
Tarnz
I have some unknown brand that's just not cutting the grade...I heard Rockford Fosgates were fairly good and not too hard on the pocket.
Tide
Zapco is just quality stuff. Can't wait to put a nice Deck, Amp, and Speakers in the new Legacy. It's been something I shy'd away from in the WRX.
Yukonart
Zapco is one of those brands that other brands hate to compete with. Understated AND underrated. ;) Personally, I'm running two Dimaond Audio D5 amps in the STi, and I LOVE them. Higher than normal power and sound quality, and only slightly higher than normal pricing. :P
dark_rex
Rockford Fosgate Punch Series. love 'em.
PPower
i used to have Linear Power after my Linear Power/old school Harmon Kardon amps. I always like Xtant since they came out and Phoenix Gold. How are Kicker amps? I tend to prefer a single multichannel amp rather than multiple ams just for simplification. No need to install 2 amps if 1 will do yhe trick & take up less room. Ridgeracer
Personally I like JBL.....I love there Class D models....very underated Zapco amps any good...? Well they only won a couple of world championships here and there....i guess they are good.... Phoenix Gold....another good brand Rockford Fosgate....good brand Xtant.....really nice amps...pricey JL Audio....nuff said...but pricey I would say in general most of the better amps are US made with the Japanese amps coming in a close seecond... Dr. Zevil
Soundsteam Class A 3.0 and Class A 6.0 Still have a couple in my basement that I am going to consider adding to the Legacy. Such fine amps. They still get booku bucks on ebay! Superb sound.
Th3Franz
Zapco is a good brand. Too bad most of their powerful amps are freakin huge. I really love my Earthquake amp. Clean and powerful A/B amp. And my Rockford Fosgate Punch 500S has met my needs. I am eager to listen to the new rockford line of amps soon. -Franz The end of a Legacy http://www.youtube.com/th3franz
SUBE555
Now Franz, remember what I told you, one Sub is enough, and the more weight you add, the less fun it will be.

Th3Franz
Another one of my favorite brands of amps: US Amps So fresh and so clean, well maybe more clean than fresh. -Franz The end of a Legacy http://www.youtube.com/th3franz

ha-evolution
Xtant=good stuff. I have one of their older ones (well it's not mine but I'm using it). I've heard they were bought out by Rockford?
turboliberty
JL Audio amps and subs with Pioneer head units are my preferred choice in my cars. If I were competing I may try something like my brother, Eclipse components with Zapco amps. It's been a very good hard hitting setup for him the last three years. Drift Monkey
I like Memphis Audio amps, great power/clarity for a great price. For subs, Memphis' sub lines look nice, but I have no experince with them. JL is usually what I go with. W7 anyone? :D

brady_bunch
So what do you guys think of Kraco? HAHAHAHAHAH! J/K! I'm partial for Fosgate. I'm old school. Build your own box, wrap your own sub crossovers, etc. I looked at the W7 and barely recognized it as a speaker. What's the logic behind that thing? $300 for ONE 8" woofer? Holy cow! :o
easton
I think I'm going to try to find an early nineties rockford punch 150 amp (anyone else know about these?) or a new zapco to push a single alumapro alchemy 10" dual voice coil in a custom SEALED enclosure. For highs and mids, I'll probably use a Zapco, with a Focal component set.

brady_bunch
So what are you guys using to build boxes these days? I used 3/4 or 1" MDF to build boxes depending upon the speaker size. My last build (circa '96) was a custom box to fill the trunk of my Miata with a pair of 10" Punch subs and a Punch 40.2 amp. It's enough to keep the bass going with the top down and the volume up. Th3Franz
I like the old school Fosgate amps. Those were the good days.. Anyway, I still use MDF for my enclosures, but I'll probably use some fiberglass too. It all depends on what I decide I want to do for a system in the Legacy. Easton, that sounds like a nice setup. :D -Franz The end of a Legacy http://www.youtube.com/th3franz
