axis008
J-spec has audio buttons on the steering wheel. How come US-spec doesn't?! Is it possible to take a JDM steering wheel like this and use it on a US-spec Legacy while retaining the audio functionality? -ben
gtmy04
They ain't audio buttons - they're shift selector for the 5AT (yes they're duplicated on each side of wheel).
dark_rex
i heard the GT will have a momo steering wheel.
PPower
The Sportshift buttons are only on the 5EAT and are an up/down on both sides. The Sportshift on the 4EAT only has the manual control at the shifter when to move it to the side for manual mode. I kinda like that way better because its more WRC sequential shifter like. 8) The only problem with those is that I've noticed some manufacturers put upshift forward where others do upshift pulling down. You certainly wouldn't want to get confused and go the wrong direction, though I'm sure the computer overrides your stupid decisions.
gtmy04
The GT wheel is indeed a Momo. The 5EAT has steering wheel buttons AND stick shift - you can choose which way you want to shift at any time. Foward move of the stick shifts up, there's a lot of conjecture over which is the better way to have the stick shifts arranged. My personal preference is that towards you to shift up feels more natural, i.e. the opposite way to the GT set up. Just a matter of getting used to it. PPower
I believe that is how Honda's is as well. For some reason I want to say that Infiniti is the opposite. hand controls are safest since they are universal top +, bottom -.
Lafite
375mm Momo Leather Wrapped 3-Spoke Sports Steering Wheel (a little bit smaller than usual). I'm using Autolok Steering Wheel Lock, in order to use it on the 375mm Momo Steering Wheel, I have to install a shoulder pad inside the lock. axis008
Would it be possible to switch the new Outback steering wheel with audio capability with that of the Legacy? I know people like SUBE555 wouldn't want this, since it would be a distraction, but I won't really mind this added feature. -ben
