Horrible customer service and blown cartridges

I've had my Megan Coilovers for nearly 5 years now. So far this year I've had my car off the road for 4 months because of waiting for parts from Megan Racing. I've had 3 of the 4 shock cartridges fail over the 5 years of ownership. Once it blows the lower mount gets oil on it and then seizes. The whole shock is almost worthless at that point and Megan Racing doesn't sell the whole shock just the individual parts and those take 6 to 8 weeks to be shipped (at best).
The ride is firm and not harsh. The adjustability is nice but not very noticeable. I was happy with the ride while they worked. Once they failed it clunked and bounced, as expected.

I bought this set from Boostjunkie on this board and am glad I did.
I was looking for adjustable height and high stiffness in either a shock/spring combo or a coilover combo. There are plenty of cheap coilovers to choose from, but I decided to go with the MR because Boostjunkie provides plenty of support for the products that he sells. You won't get this kind of customer support from any other coilover setup this cheap.
These coilovers have the spring rate that I wanted for my wagon (6 kg/mm in the front and 8 kg/mm in the rear). People with sedans may or may not like it.
The damping adjustability really works. I have mine set at 4 from the softest in the front and 10 from the softest in the rear. It provides a very comfortable ride, but still damps properly. Slow speed braking with a sudden grip at the end doesn't cause more than 1 to 1.5 oscillations. I have ridden other kinds of cars with coilovers and have found that a lot of coilovers only have 3 damping adjustments. For example, the Audi S4 Bilstein coilover settings from 2 through 8 are almost the same so you only get 3 settings: 1, 2-8, and 9.
The cornering seems to be really good too, but I installed Cusco swaybars at the same time, so I can't entirely attribute the better handling to the MR coilovers.
The ride is harsher than stock, but I only really notice it in the rear and only when I go over big bumps. However, the increased performance in braking (less diving) and acceleration (less squatting) is well worth it.

Pros:

Adjustability; Make LGT handle like a sports car should!

|
Cons:

Terrible, terrible instructions!

Product looks good and is easy to install and does the job. You do not need a more expensive coilover unless you are a track dog. See my post under "suspension" for the best way to adjust them.
I have no rattles or clunks, but some people do. Probably because they did not preload them correctly or because the collars came loose. I would like to see an Allen screw to solidify the collar position. Also, the dust boots should be thinner or the springs fatter to make sure they do not rub.
Why spend $400 on springs when you can have springs and shocks that are dampening and height and camber adjsutable for $500 more. Its a no brainer decision if you ask me.

Pros:

Makes OBXT fun finally, looks, value, construction
|
|
Cons:
|
documentation, not double adjustable, lose camber adjustment.

I just installed the outback version of the LGT coilovers I got from boostjunkie. The install went very smooth. They preform like any pair of coilovers you would expect. Makes the Outback a drivable car again. Don't think it will be enough to take it to the track, but makes daily spirited driving much funner.
I hope the durability lives up to the initial quality.
The one unexpected thing was that you lose the eccentric camber adjustability on the lower bolt. Everything else is great.

Pros:

Less dive/squat, adjustable height, price(comparatively speaking)
|
|
Cons:
|
Included instructions incomplete, shipped set-up is too low for the street

I just had these installed yesterday, and man are they awesome. I was riding on stock struts w/Swift Sport lowering springs and the ride, while controlled, was just unbearable. I was torn between Bilstein shocks w/the Swifts and the MR Coilovers. Well, I am very pleased with my decision.
The MR's handle like a dream and the ride is very compliant. I think that there is an increase in road noise, however the harshness and vibration are greatly reduced. I only wish that these beauties were visible because they are dead sexy.
Kudos to Boostjunkie for a painless transaction. Definitely recommended.

Great product but grease those towers. The srping clang is a little loud. Amazing car performance increase in stiffness and handling. Even without upgrade sways or towers car feels so stiff.
