Pros: Excellent dry and wet handling
Cons: Just ok in the snow, slightly noisy at higher speeds

After having several horrible experiences with the stock RE-92 Potenzas, I decided after only 3000 miles to cut my losses and buy a whole set of all season tires. After much research, I chose the Toyo Proxy 4's in the stock size 215/45/17.

After a 10,000 miles and a year of driving on these tires, I have had mostly great experiences. I was surprised by how great these tires are on wet roads. They stick like glue. In the dry these tires are very sticky for all seasons, although don't expect them to be as good as a dedicated set of summer tires.

The only time these tires were not up to the job was during a snow storm while driving on miles of unplowed twisty narrow roads with no guard rails. The tires got me though, but lost grip here and there - especially when the road was going up hill. I made it though ok, but it was definitely a white knuckle experience. Basically, these tires will get you though snow, but you have to be extremely careful and take things very slow.

Other than the during that one experience, these tires have been amazing. I have travelled many times on highways during heavy downpours, driven on roads with lots of standing water, and I have to say these tires are excellent in wet conditions.

As for dry roads, I have not been able to break the tires loose. These tires are very sticky.

I find the sidewalls are much stronger than the stock Potenzas and do not flex as easily. I keep my tires filled at 35 psi front and 33 psi rear, and check them once a month. The stock tires always felt like they were tripping over themselves - even during very low speeds going around turns in a parking garage. The Toyos have held up during high speeds on curvy roads to low speed turns in parking garages - I never get a sense of the sidewalls flexing or tripping over themselves.

After 1 year of use (10,000 miles), I still have lots and lots of thread left on them. I have accidently hit a couple of big potholes and these tires have held up without blowing out or forming bubbles (knock on wood).

All in all, I recommend these tires.

Pros: Great in rain and snow
Cons: sidewalls gave away twice

I loved these tires when I got them. Then I had to tires within 3 months of each other develop bubbles in the sidewalls. Even before then, taking particular curves w/ posted 30 mph speed limits at 60+, I could feel the sidewalls give (I have 33 & 34psi front to rear normally).
I bought them for a great price online, but dealing with the road hazard people twice was a nightmare. Since there's like only one Toyo dealer within 100 miles of me, and I'm not rolling on a doughnut for a week waiting for a tire, I bit the bullet and headed to NTB.
So far, the Yoko AVS ES100 are holding up.

Pros: Good wet & dry traction
Cons: More sidewall flex than I'd like

I'm running a 225/45/17 on 17.5" rim.

I switched from 215/45/17 so technically this tire will have a higher profile, which probably resulted in more sidewall flex. Besides that these tires are great, very low road noise, excellent dry and wet traction. I haven't taken these in the snow yet so I can't speak to the snow traction.

Overall I would definitely recommend these tires to someone who wants to keep an all-season tire on the car.

Pros: excellent wet and dry and good snow and ice capabilities
Cons: a little pricey

Coming from the RE92's, these tires are simply amazing. I have not been able to loose any grip on this tire. They handle better than expected. It is like driving a new car on my 2005 LGT... Simply awesome

Pros: Great Dry Grip, Great Wet Grip, Pretty quiet
Cons: not really any...but I do not drive in snow...

After 27k, I replaced the re92 with these. They hold great through the corners and are really comfortable for daily driving. For the $$$, get them...

Pros:
Cons:

I don't know about on LGT, but I had them on my Nissan Sentra SER Spec-V and these tires sucked. Decent dry traction, limited traction in the rain, no go in light snow. Replaced them with the BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2s. These tires offered much better traction in dry and wet. Not recommended for snow.

IMO, any tire is better than the stockers, Subaru should be ashamed for sticking us with those Potenza RE 92s. Those tires are just terrible for a performance oriented sedan /wagon.

Pros: Great dry & wet performance, decent in the snow
Cons:

I picked these up at Les Schwab after my third flat in 8000 miles on RE-92s. I went with 225/45/17 on the stock rims, and I've been on them for 30k now, through two years and a single trackday. They're getting close to the end of their effective life, but they've been great tires - much better grip in the dry, confidence-inspiring in the wet, and good enough to get me through some nasty snow and ice conditions last winter. They weren't as nice as studs or even dedicated winters, but they were enough to get me up some pretty steep hills in very slick conditions.

They handled pretty well (for all-seasons) on the track, and the only real issue I've had is a FR tire that came of the bead when I had a little off-track excursion - certainly not the tire's fault!

I'd strongly recommend these if you want a single tire for the entire year. If you're concerned about the "soft sidewalls," don't go with the extra-tall profile like I did (though I didn't think it was that bad).

Pros: Good in the rain
Cons: NOT quiet

I replaced the stock RE92s with this proxy 4s at about 30,000 miles. Have driven two winters (one hardly any snow or ice - lots of rain; and one with LOTS of snow). Have been happy with this tire as an all season tire. As they get older, I am thinking of buying a dedicated snow, such as Blizzak, etc. for the winter (with separate rims). Note: One MUST keep them properly inflated at all times (check inflation more often than most other tires), or they will perform badly. The noisy hum has increased (after about 22,000 miles). I paid $140; they are 215/45/17. Had purchase three sets of Toyos for my 2000 Legacy, so I gave these a try for the '05. Jury is still out as to whether or not I would purchase again. I'll wait another 20,000 mi. or so.
