Description: The COBB Tuning SF Intake for the Subaru Legacy GT utilizes our custom design to maintain optimal flow while minimizing turbulence found with many aftermarket intake systems. This configuration provides the most consistent power for everyday use while at the same time allowing some audible performance feedback! . For your convenience, the SF Intake system is compatible with our Stage 1 and Stage 2 OTS (off the shelf mapping) provided with our AccessPORT ECU device.

The COBB Tuning Heat Shield was developed to capture the cool air supplied to the SF Intake through the factory intake snorkle. Constructed of 16 ga. Aluminum, the heat shield consists of a one piece surround, directional lid, and stainless fasteners that help reduce a loss of power that could be robbed from your motor by a heated intake charge.

Pros: Performance, looks
Cons: Car's no longer a sleeper

Looks great. Gas mileage improved. I haven't really noticed much improvement in power but it's hard to tell. Blow off sound is a little louder than I expected

Pros: very easy to install, goes well w/ stage 2 setup
Cons: blow off sound degrades legacy styling

Installed this myself w/ basic hand tools, will admit, I should have did an uppipe mod first, (because of performance reasons) but am happy w/ overall experience. Had this for almost a year, no problems.

Pros: good it in the spce for the OEM air filter box and factory grill intake
Cons: on 2007 legacy the air box does not completely cover the wheel well opening allowing hot air from the engine compartment toflow into the intake

For the air box to properly keep out engine compartment hot air in 2007 models you must fabricate a sheet metal flange to cover a one inch gap into the wheel well opening along the front that the air box does not cover properly. This was not difficult but it would have been nic eif Cobb had simply extended the box to cover this opening. All the other sides fit perfectly in the existing engine compartment where the OEM filter box was located. Very noticable increase in air intake whistle and blow off valvle noise form 2500 to 3500 rmp as my turbo kicks in. Above 3500 RPM noise is reduced.

Pros: Nice sound, well built, good fit, great performance
Cons: little pricy

It's a nice looking, nice sounding, well fitting, great performing part, period. No negatives, just make sure you're tuned for it after install. Performance was much better than my SPT intake, no turbulence over the MAF sensor and my intake charge is now 10 degrees cooler on average thanks to the use of silicone instead of metal piping. I'm very pleased with the part. I also purchased it with the airbox.
