Pros: Prominent Subaru Rumble
Cons: Removal of the rusty bolts were a *%$#&

Got the Stage 2.5 version of this! Brand new nuts/bolts + Washers! Made an amazing difference in sound volume, but isn't overly obnoxious. I would highly suggest if your waiting for funds for your CBE.

Pros: Perfect sound, Cheap, Easy
Cons: none

I am running "Stage 2" (2 washers on each bolt)
I love the sound. I get complements on the sound of my exhaust and my idle tone.
I feel a little more punch low down in the rpms. (could just be the sound fooling with me!)

I think its fantastic

Pros: Better sound
Cons: Fart/hissing sound if you are right at the back of the car and listening for it at idle

Its ghetto I know. I did it cause the car was too quiet for me. Im going to get a Greddy Evo II catback in the future but i dont have the cash right now and its keeping me satisfied in the interum.

Pros: Adjustable and reversable. cheap
Cons: No improvements in power.

quick & easy. Just add more washers to make it louder. This mod is actually helping me decide which cat back to buy in the future.

Pros: Cheap, great sound, and not permanent.
Cons:

I did this for many of the same reasons as most..........can't afford a nice catback right now. This gives a great low rumble, that is not annoying. Like Robert stated, it helps give a better idea of which exhaust to go with in the future.

Pros: cheap, reversible in minutes, gives you a benchmark to compare to other exhaust
Cons: no power increase, maybe slight drop in mpg

I had the washers and figured it would help me decide whether or not I wanted to buy a cat back or not. It produces a nice low rumble. It helped me make up my mind to buy a CBE..

Pros: CHEAP
Cons: DIRTY

I didnt have money right away but demanded boxer rumble sound. so I put 3 washers on. Let me tell you that even guys with catbacks said that my lgt sounded very good and almost made them regret buying an exhaust. LOL Too damn dirty though.

Pros: Cheap, easy, and sounds good
Cons: Having to explain it to people who ask; dirty

Great mod if you don't have the money for an exhaust system and you want a little extra rumble. There is an exhaust leak sound when it's idling and you're near the rear wheels (a bit of a "hiss"). Because the exhaust is leaking out under the car, there is a bit of carbon build-up under the car (like the rear sway bar). The other thing I've noticed is that it's quite loud in the rear seat at hwy speeds.

I've had many compliments, though, from people who thought I had a full exhaust system - even Subaru guys. I do plan to get a custom exhaust done when I have some funds.

Pros: Fast, Cheap
Cons: None

As far as just changing the sound of your exhaust, its a good choice. It takes mere minutes to do and sounds much better.

Alot of people will eventually use an aftermarket exhaust, this works for the time being.
