PERRIN Performance has teamed up with PDXTuning and ECUTEK to bring you an ECU flash anyone with a laptop can do. The Easy ECU is a program that allows you to flash your Subaru ECU with provided tuned maps. Until now, you had to take your car to an authorized ECUTEK dealer to get it flashed, or go through the process of sending in your ECU while it gets flashed. Now the end user can flash his or her own car. This is as simple as having a laptop and a car to program!
The files we supply is where the Magic happens. Included with Each PERRIN EASY ECU purchase is 4 maps. The main map is a map tuned to your specific needs, which will vary depending on parts installed. From this point we provide a slightly detuned map incase you get bad fuel, a valet map with no boost, and no power, and finally we provide a race fuel map. You can think of it as 4 powerlevels. The EASY ECU software uses a USB connection to your laptop, so re-flashes only take a minute or two, not half an hour!
Power increases with the EASY ECU will vary depending on parts installed. A few examples are show below. These are Wheel HP charts, and represent some of the maps we supply.
The attached graph shows results of a PDXTuning tuned S2 Legacy GT map. This car loves an ECU tune! Stage 2 Legacy GT includes a PERRIN uppipe, and turboback. While these gains are very high, similar gains can be expected with similar modifications.
This maybe the most overlooked feature of the EASY ECU. Subaru has its own internal OBD type program called Subaru Select Monitor. This is a Subaru specific On Board Diagnostics protocol, allows the complete viewing/reading of every sensor on the car. Deltadash is a program that looks that the SSM information and allows the end user to view/log/graph this info. The Deltadash features are:
