Description:
|
Ions have one of the higher spring rates and the fronts are progressive while the rears are linear. This gives you a nice ride but will dig in as the front springs are compressed adding more resistance. They have two kinds: Sport Spec and HD which have a slightly higher spring rate.
Ion Sport Spec
FR: 4.0kg/mm or 228lbs/in at 1 inch of compression, 5.2kg/mm or 297lbs/in at 2 inches of compression
Rear: 6.7kg/mm or 382lbs/in
Lowering is 30mm (1.18 inches front) and 25mm (1 inches rear).

Seems like I am driving a different car. Every driving situation seems to have been improved. My previous car was ran on Eibachs and H&R springs. Both of those lowered the car more than advertised. I know that the claims are based on an average or something like that, but my experience was to expect a bit more. I am glad that the drop was not greater than advertised because I think that I would bottom out everywhere on everything, but I would have like the drop to have been what they listed. I wish I would have measured before and after, but it would appear that I got about the advertised drop in the back and 3/4ths on an inch in the front.
Ride is a bit less pleasing than stock, but not as jarring as I expected. Even though the drop was not what I expected I would not switch to another brand. Highly recommended!

I am happy with the springs just think $400 is a lot for springs when competitors who are getting good reviews cost half this.

Changed over from Swift springs (lowest of the bunch with over 2" drop) to a 1" drop of the IONS. Very pleased with the ride quality vs performance ratio. Very welcome increase in suspension travel.

Replaced stock springs with Ion sport spec front/hd rears for my specB on usdm bilsteins. Not too stiff, great daily driver, just what I wanted. Huge improvement over stock in terms of performance. Very happy with them. Fit the bilsteins pretty much perfectly. Front drop 7/8", rear RAISED 1/8" (both measured after a week) gives a bit of a "raked" look. Did not do bump stop mod, no problems yet....Great vendor too.
