Pros:

Adjustability is dramatically effective, overall performance/comfort
|
|
Cons:
|
wish the front coils had a higher maximum height range, still a bit rough on broken pavement

I've had these on my '08 LGT for a a year and a half and 13K miles now driving only on public roads but lots of different conditions. The first order of business was to figure out the settings that I liked for the car, this process honestly took me almost half a year but I'm picky and new to coilovers. I have them sitting at maximum height range on the front and nearly level with the rears (still plenty of space). The front has settled at least half an inch over the year, a little bit less on the rear. Overall the car sits kinda low for my tastes, but it looks and handles great and just barely manages to clear parking blocks/curbs. On public roads with a high frequency of broken pavement I need to keep the dampeners set at 1-2 from softest on all corners, but it is still not as buttery smooth as stock. On smoother pavement I can really crank up the stiffness to match the roads, a bit softer on roads with lots of undulations and off-camber turns, but very firm for roads with flatter/banked corners. I tend to like even stiffness on all four coils on dry pavement because I think the handling is a bit more neutral that way, but in heavy rain or snow I like to firm up the front more relative to the rear, and it seems like this balance keeps the car in a resolutely mild-understeer state. I think these coils are the best fit for someone that has access to great public roads, but they might not be performance-oriented enough for some track day enthusiasts. I paid 1500 for them, and I think the overall improvement to performance is dramatic and I haven't noticed anything short of consistently great quality.

looks awesome (laker colors), easy install, great handling

price, uses some plastic parts

This is a great product, the $1500 is steep but these coilovers are a perfect mesh of handling and comfort. I feel like I am glued to the road. I test drove these over some pot holes and it almost felt like stock. If you want performance but don't want to feel like youre driving over speed bumps definately consider these coilovers.

Hi All,
I want to preface this review by stating that I’m not a “suspension expert” by any means.
KW Coilovers, Variant 2 – Review
http://www.kw-suspension.com/en/30_P...nt_2/index.php
I purchased a new set of KW Coilovers, Variant 2 about half a year ago, and have put over 15,000 miles on them. I wanted to get a really good feel for them before writing a review.
What I was looking for in a Coilover was the ability to adjust Ride Height, as well as adjust Rebound Damper, to give me flexibility between daily driving, spirited canyon runs, and track days. The most important factor for me was to find a Coilover that had Ride Comfort in mind, that wouldn’t end up ruining my Legacy’s daily driving experience, while still adjustable enough to turn it into a “track worthy” car, and allow a fun track run in the process. After much deliberation and research, I went with the KW Coilovers, and I couldn’t be happier!
After installing the KW’s, the difference was immediate, and forgive the cliché (but it’s so true), the difference was night and day. The car was much more stable in high speed turns, body roll was reduced, and overall, it just felt a lot more fun to drive because of the increased responsiveness.
The vendor I purchased it from – Boostjunkie – helped me adjust the Rebound Damper to a nice “daily driving” setting, where there was a slight change in Ride Comfort (a little more “stiff” / “sporty” than stock), but the benefits far outweighed that slight change. After a few days, I didn’t even notice the ride comfort change any more. It’s made my daily driving experience that much more fun (the Legacy GT itself has been a blast , and when I took the Legacy out to a track event (and adjusted the Rebound Damper), it held up amazingly! I let one of the veteran Race Instructors take my Legacy for a spin on the track and he complimented me on the setup!
The KW Coilovers, Variant 2 come with 7k/7k springs, and adjusting the Rebound Damper couldn’t be easier. There are multiple LegacyGT FAQ’s stickied in this very sub-forum that offer sage advice: If you’re just daily driving and only want to adjust the height of your car, go with Springs/Struts replacement. However, if you want the adjustability of ride height, and how “sporty” your Legacy feels (for a weekend “canyon run” or “spirited drive” or just track days), I highly recommend the KW Coilovers, Variant 2.
I purchased my KW’s from a LegacyGT.com Vendor – Boostjunkie (Paul) – and the whole buying experience was easy and painless! Boostjunkie had a great price, offered great advice, and even offers an Install Service for local customers. Paul installed my KW Coilovers in just a little over 1 hour, quick and easy!
Boostjunkie summed it up best when he said, “it feels like a sporty BMW,” and having driven a couple BMW 3-series over the years, I’d have to agree.
Overall: Highly recommended!
(Special thanks to Xenonk, Snodork, and Boostjunkie for advice and helping a newbie out with all my questions! )

Pros:

Great price for the level of performance
|
|
Cons:

No compression dampening

Straight forward install, Decent documentation, Excellent quality of build. These coil overs tightened up and complimented an already firm car. I run cobb sways front and rear and shocks work well in adjunct with these bars. Steering is flat, neutral and responsive, and lends to a well balanced package...

Good price, great ride, excellent handling, german made

Vague instructions

I paid $1500 for these... This is a good price considering that retail is $1800. The ride/handling/steering is excellent with this setup. The instructions were a bit hard to understand since they came from Germany, but thanks to this website, all questions are answered. There is a lot of respect that comes from owning KW's. My car has been on a couple different lifts in a couple different race shops. When they guys look up at your suspension and immediately say "Wow, KW's!" you know you've made the right choice. I also use Cobb front and rear sway bars with end links.
