Description:
|
The AVO high-flow pop-in panel air filter has been designed specifically for the Legacy GT and Outback XT. Made from sturdy cotton fiber with a special dry film that allows for more air flow than stock with equal rates of engine protection. Thanks to it's high-tech design the AVO panel air filter is washable, extending the life beyond your standard drop-in air filter.

Fitment, no oil, less restrictive, washable

The reviews I have read on CA intakes for the legacy seem to have little to no gain over the factory air box system.. I installed the filter and the AVO MAF hose and throttle response was greatly improved to red-line..For the price of a short-ram intake, I have a cold air, free flowing intake..

Got this on sale, you can't beat it. Car feels much more responsive, although I'm under no illusions that it's mainly from changing out my VERY dirty stock filter. Washable, no oil crap to deal with, can hear more turbo (not obnoxious though). What more can you want? For the price it will easily repay itself instead of buying throw away filters.

Pros:

Relatively inexpensive, washable, no oil used
|
|
Cons:

no real gain in HP

This is a good replacement for the stock filter. Its washable and doesn't use oil like K&N or Perrin. Less hassle as far as replacing filters so frequently.

doesnt last forever, doesnt really add much power.

Butt dyno showed no improvement. You can hear turbo spoool and sort of hear the bypass valve. IMO get this after you go stage 1. I dont see the improvement on a stock system.

A good solution for those that dont want to remove the stock airbox.
|

Cons:

Only usable at most 3-4 washes.

For the cost I should of just bought the K&N panel filter. Used several of them and never had issues with MAF's. Really up to the end users preferance.

Increased turbo recirc. valve sound and flow. doesnt use oil like some filter

Great bang for your buck when you have to replace your filter. this one can be cleaned and will last you longer than a standard one. also seems to have more flow and will add a little bit of beautiful wooshing sound when you hit the gas. for most mod applications the LGT intake is designed quite well so there is no need to go for an expensive aftermarket intake. when compared to other panel filters the fact this is a dry filter vs an oiled one is a much safer bet as well
