Purchased from BrakeSwap. Put these on the front before a 5 hour road trip. Bedded them in at the beginning of the trip. (Slotted version.)
Goal: Very strong braking for agressive street and occassional AutoX and a couple of track days. Biggest desire was strong, fade resistent brakes for high speed braking.
Verdict: Excellent.
- Coefficient and braking power: Very good. Comes on a bit touchier than stock (a good thing really) then grabs consistently and firmly. Much closer to the BBK I drove on another member's car (though obviously not quite as good as that). May need to upgrade rear pads to have a more similar coeffient (doesn't seem to be that big of an issue).
- Fade: Hauled down from 90+ mph several times with no problems. Track would probably be the best test, but honestly, I think you can put a car through some pretty rough paces by just doing very aggressive accelleration, de-accelleration on an open road.
- Dusting: Not sure yet. Honestly, I don't care that much as long as I get good performance.
- Noise: No problem under agressive driving. However, under gentle braking at slow speeds, they can squeal a bit (as I guess most track pads do) and sound a little rough. I've heard this fades some with time, and even now, it's really not that bad. The trade off to have full confidence in any situation (high speed, repeated braking, etc.) I think will be worth the slight noise under slow, gentle braking.
For the winter I will probably swap out for some Bobcats or AX6.
Installation Tips:
- With new pads and rotors, you'll probably have to compress the caliper pistions with a c clamp in order to install it.
- Make sure and clean off the disks with brake cleaner--new ones usually have a light oil on them.
- I only reinstalled one of the two backing plates (there's a ribbed one and a solid one on each pad). I did use the anti-squeal brake goop on them.

Had Hawk HPS pads on stock rotors for about 2000 miles and while the Hawk pads were an improvement over stock pads, these rotors truly bring out their ability. Or is it that the pads bring out the DBA's ability? Either way I'm very happy with the addition of these rotors.

Goodridge stainless steel lines, hawk hps pads and dba 4000 slotted. After balancing out many pricey options, this was the most affordable combination I could come up with and I'm happily impressed. Pads can take a few stops to warm up and stop squealing (especially when wet) but perform well with the new rotors. The Goodridge lines add quick and firm pedal feel. Rotors were insanely easy to install when coupled with pad replacement. Repeated heavy braking from 100+ yields smooth, even, fade free response. Maximum bang-for-the-buck as opposed to hard-to-choke-down-expensive brake kits.

Good Price, Better Stopping Over Stock

Cons:

None So Far

Bought mine from Import Image. Have only received the front rotors so far, rears are still on their way. After the bedding process, I have a good amount of stopping power over my stock setup.

Stopping power could be a little better

Amazing product. Unless combined with stainless steel lines and good fluid pedal feel sightly increased on daily driving. Much better feel on hard driving.

Pros:

Great brake feel, good feedback, quiet and heat resistant
|
|
Cons:
|
Not cheap (or very cheap vs. big brake upgrade)
|
|
I live in the hills in Los Angeles and go from cold to VERY STEEP long grade to bumper to bumper traffic and the stock brakes did not hold up long. I have not track tested these brakes (yet) but have hauled down from 100+ several times in a hurry with no apparent brake fade as well as hours of spirited mountain and canyon driving.
I find the kangaroo paw heat dispersal pattern very effective.
NOTE: These are paired with hawk HPS pads which may account for the postitive pedal feel and seemingly improved braking and feedback.
