Description: AEM's Legacy GT Cold Air Intake (CAI) relocates the air filter outside of the engine compartment to deliver the coolest air inlet temperatures possible. Cooler air carries more oxygen, which translates into a more intense explosion in the combustion chamber to create more horesepower and torque. But that's only part of the power equation. Tuning the inlet pipe in length and diameter to match the engine's resonance helps move more air to the cylinders (think of your engine as a big air pump), and no company on the market can tune an inlet as well AEM can. AEM also monitors fuel trim correction factors and all OBDII sensors during R&D to eliminate leaning the engine out and/or throwing a check engine light. AEM Cold Air systems are dyno-proven and tested against the competition to create more useable power than any other system of their kind. Every AEM Cold Air induction system features the highest standards of construction and we are so confident in their fit and performance that we guarantee them for the life of your vehicle. All AEM Cold Air systems are either 50-state legal or pending (excluding "Off Road" and "Hybrid" systems), include a lifetime DRYFLOW Synthetic air filter and come with a limited lifetime warranty.

Comes in either polish, silver, red, or blue.

Cons: cant find any

Warning The Woosh Sound May Excite You!! The install was very easy. The sound is nice not to ricey/ loud. With a protuned map, you really feel the power from this thing. I def recommend it.

Pros: Sound; Power (potential); Dry Filter; Quality Parts.
Cons: Fit is mediocre.; CARB Pending

07 OBXT Ltd. 5MT

Install was easy, to get the heat shield to stay, you have to trim out a little area to clear room for a bolt thread. Easy with tin snips and pliers, just snip two 1/2" cuts and fold in where the bolt sits. Not bad, just shouldn't be neccessary on a $200+ intake.

Sounds Great! Not too loud, easily hidden inside cabin with radio on 5 or higher.

Power potential is nice, didn't feel much (any) power increase on stock setup, but will be putting in larger turbo soon. Should be great from what I've read...

Pros: Sound, power
Cons: Fitment is not exact but it's "ok"

Overall this is a good product. Make sure you reuse the two oem palstics spacers when installing. Slight gap under the black heat shield but not too bad.

Sounds good!! Not too loud like the K&N.

Cons: Little power gains

bought this when i was stage 1 and didnt see much gains but now that im stage 2 it is making more power. not one of the premier mods for the LGT and i can see why. am i glad i bought it? yes! would i recommend it? probably not.

but if u are going with an aftermarket intake on ur LGT, make sure its AEM!

Cons:

AEM said they don’t have a CAI for the 06 legacy gt but to ask someone on the forums if the 05 CAI does fit the 06 model.

Pros: Increased sound; Easy Install
Cons: possibility of water ingestion

My LGT started out with the SPT short ram intake. I then got a Borla CBE and could not even hear the CBE over the screaming SPT intake. I decided to go to an AEM CAI at this point. The sound is MUCH quieter than the SPT, but you still hear the nice suction sound from the intake, BOV whoosh, and the turbo spool. I'm at a stage 1 setup and from my logs it seems like I have increased flow as well. If you are definitely looking for an intake, i would recommend a long look at the AEM. Only downside is the now possibility of water ingestion from the filter sticking so low into the wheel well. Must take caution of not driving in puddles that would be deeper than the ground clearance of the car.

Pros: Sound/Fit
Cons: Water ingestion, power gains

Just installed aem CAI on my 05 gt limited, sound is great, power increases are minimal but after protune should see better power gains. Great color as well.
