Description:
|
The AVO designed 20mm solid rear stabilizer bar is a big improvement over the standard USDM or JDM OEM tube-construction rear stabilizer bar. Adjustable for roll resistance, it improves turn-in, removes body roll in corners, and works very well with the standard 21mm front stabilizer bar. A must have! Will fit to a USDM Legacy GT or Outback XT with the provided rear 20mm polyurethane bushings.

Pros:

Much flater turning, cars feels more solid.

Cons:
|
Pain to install if you don't unbolt exhaust
|
|
I install the AVO rear sway bar this weekend and, except for a snag, it went very well. I had the car on jacks with both wheels off and it was still difficult to thread the new bar in. I would recommend disconnecting the exhaust connections. Oh, while you're back there... change your read brake pads!!!
Anyway, after the install, I immediately noticed how much flatter the car behaves during fast turning. This is a great upgrade and should have been built this way from the factory.

Hot dog, what an improvement!!! Granted, I have several upgraded suspension pieces on my car, this had to be one of the bigger bangs after install!
Without a doubt, one must install this piece with the AVO swaybar brackets for proper reinforcement on the chassis mount points. If you don't, you risk bending the stock brackets. I seriously laughed at the difference in diameter between the AVO piece and stock....just simply laughable!

When you say "sway bar brackets" do you mean "end links" or the "RSB mounts"? See: http://www.rallitek.com/leousu.html for illustration.

Before I installed this sway bar, I thought stiffer springs would reduce the roll enough for me.
After I installed this sway bar, I had an "oh wow" moment, and told myself I should've done this alot sooner. As others have mentioned, the car is alot more neutral now. It reduced rear body roll and understeer is pretty much gone.
During turns I can feel the car wanting to transfer power and momentum forward, and I'm no longer using my power just to keep the car on course.
I would recommend this as a must buy for anyone looking to upgrade their suspension and improve the handling.
