Description: Perrin's lightened crank pulley for the Subaru WRX, STi, and Legacy GT is engineered to reduce rotating mass, increasing horsepower and torque. Made from 6061T6 aluminum and weighing 1.2lbs, Perrin crank pulley is more then 4 lbs lighter then the stock crank pulley. Perrin's pulley is not underdriven and will not affect the life of your engine. The pulley is a redesigned, lighter rendering of the stock crank pulley.

Aftermarket underdrive pulleys are prone to charging and drivability problems, the Perrin pulley avoids these potential problems by exactly copying the OEM piece. The redution at the crank shaft is effectively the same as removing 100 pounds of weight from your vehicle. Perrin's crank pulley will not wear out engine bearings or the oil pump, and will not add any additional vibration or noise. Installation is straightforward can be done without jacking the vehicle or removing anything other than the belt cover, belts and stock crank pulley.

Pros: Car Seems To run up rpms faster
Cons: It is what is : )

Recently added to my mod list, honestly I feel some differences but I would be lying if I said this is incredible, but the stock is frickin heavy for sure so that was a plus, I added new gates racing belts to compliment the pulley. But again it is what it is

Pros: Easy to install, GREAT feel for a 5EAT!
Cons: None..Works awesome with my 5EAT!

Oh man,the only thing i regret is that i didn't install this sooner! Been sitting in my trunk for about a month! Car feels like it pulls a littler harder up top. My launch in my 5EAT is awesome now...revs go up SO much faster. Awesome product! I highly recommend this for ANY 5EAT owner! Its a must have!

Pros: Great Fit, Sweet Looks
Cons: $?

This pulley went on really easily as per Perrin's instructions, I tightened to 110, instead of 93/130 as Perrin/OEM suggests. Works great so far.... Car revs a little freer (it seems) w/o the clutch engaged, no real quantifiable difference in driving really... but upon removal of the stock pulley, the stock pulley is HEAVY! So I can't possibly imagine any real downside except cost. Perrin did a great job with fit and finish, but I don't know if there are any real hp gains to be had here. If you want hp, you may want to try an underdrive pulley and post up your review!

Pros: Better throttle feel, Install was not as bad as I thought (5EAT)
Cons: None

More responsive throttle feel.

Looks close to OEM. It doesn't shout "Look at me"!!!

Makes the 5EAT more fun to drive (and launch).

Pros: Relatively cheap, easy to install, looks kinda OEM
Cons: ummm... It doesnt't do a whole lot

I would recommend this for anyone lookin for a cheap, quick easy way to pad their mods list.

It was very easy to install and relatively inexpensive. Feels like high quality work.

Only downside is it really doesn't do a whole lot, maybe revs a little freeer (sp?) with the clutch pressed.

Pros: Great quality & effective mod
Cons: None

Really made a noticeable difference in the revving of my 5EAT GT wagon. Install was easy, torqued to 93 ft/lbs per instructions. I put a big screwdriver in the edge of the trans housing (access hole under intercooler) to lock the trans & break the crank bolt loose. Would highly recommend this mod.

Pros: Price. Fit and Finish. Stealth.
Cons: None

Install was smooth and straight forward on my 5EAT. Much lighter than stock. Fit just like stock and appears to be of good quality. You barely notice it looking at the engine. The "stealth" factor is nice.

Engine revs slightly faster. Not a big improvement. However, the engine cruises at 70mph easier than before. When coasting off throttle, the car feels as if there is less resistance and coasts much further and smoother than before.

Best of all, when driving under normal conditions (follow speed laws and/or go with flow of traffic) I am seeing a 2mpg (per tank) increase in fuel economy! This thing will eventually pay for itself. Its like getting a free gallon of gas with every tank!

For the price I paid ($94.50) it was worth every penny.

Pros: Price, Install ease, Fit, appearance
Cons: None

Have a '05, LGT, EAT and as noted by most other raters, engine seems to spool up quicker when driven with spirit, better fuel mileage when driven normally.
Car simply seems to pull stronger and longer.
Very happy with this economical, $99.00 upgrade.
