Description:
|
This muffler set from Prodrive bolts directly to your Legacy to give better flow, an improved exhaust note, and a subtle appearance upgrade. They're made from stainless steel, with a classic Prodrive oval tip that's embossed with the Prodrive logo.
Fits all '05 turbo Legacy, both sedan and wagon. MAY fit 2.5i models, but we haven't verified it yet.

Pros:
|
Nice boxer rumble, no drone, easy to install
|
|
Cons:
|
Probably not much power to be had (piping same as stock)

Subaru built the legacy to be quiet, comfy yet sporty at the same time.
The prodrive muffler should have come with the car. I can see how it may be too quiet for some, but it gives me just the right amount of feedback. I used to stall a bit because the car gave no feedback, compared ot my miata.
Butt dyno only felt better response in the midrange. maybe it's because it's louder then but it feels like the needle is going up a little faster than usual. (I'm stage 1). However the piping to muffler is the same as stock.
You won't annoy your gf/mother/grandparent with this exhaust. You CAN still hear it. It is silky smooth, no droning, no really super loud backfires.
Done in 20 minutes. I used a ziptie to align the rubber hangers, as 1 will usually hang lower than the other (the dual exhaust curse) No leaks even when I reused the stock gaskets (which looked pretty beat)
8.5/10.

I bought this set of axle backs from a member on here and i couldnt be happier.
I dont like to draw attention to myself (looks or soundwise) and after seeing pics and hearing them on youtube i knew these were the ones for me.
The youtube video does not do them justice! In person they sound so much better. Like the original poster these should have came stock.
You get that right amount of boxer rumble without sounding over the top and drawing unwanted attention (ricers & cops!)
On top of that they blend in very well w/ the cars bumper, my only gripe (and it's not a big deal at all) is the tips stick out just slightly, almost like Prodrive made them so that wagon owners could buy them as well. It's super subtle maybe a half inch too much imo.. again its no big deal and id guess its because i was used to the oem tips.
Install was about and hour with hand tools and that was with me taking my time because i would back in my house to thaw out.
