custom exhaust project

so I figured i'd start my own thread to update as i make more progress

I started out with a spare set of LGT mufflers. I knew i wanted more noise, and nicer looking tips.

Cut the cans open, removed most of everything (kept inlet pipe and middle baffle wall)

Provided a definite rumble, but above about 3500 rpms there was no difference between stock. I've been in a "hog-zawsted" car before, and the idle rumble wasnt quite that loud but in the ballpark. so i decided why not just make it better at all RPMS. i have some perforated stainless tubing on its way, and ill weld it in so it looks something like this.. so ALMOST muffler delete but not quite. should be good

next, have wanted to have dual tips. SO i thought about custom fabbing.. made these on solidworks

3 inch OD piping. needless to say, I was just about to buy the piping when i found an almost perfect match on the internet. They're staggered too! so they're on their way.. ill post more when everything put together!

So it looks like you want to keep the stock cans run a straight though design and a new tip correct?

I was thinking about doing this as well but retaining the stock tips. But i would love to bypass the stupid baffles in the muffler...holy crap are they restrictive looks like the exhaust has to run through a machine gun barrel haha.

yeah i spent about a hundred.. mine have double walled tips so i think that looks a bit nicer.. and theyre a bit bigger.. same idea though. i just didnt want to spend a lot of $$ on cans.. 100 on tips was reasonable as all my other perf. piping was really not any cost
