Okay most of you guys are familiar with our 160* Coolsafe Thermostat, as it has always been one of our very most popular products. We've sold many hundreds of them at $60, and now it's time to do a Group Buy discount to get them into even more cars and to bump sales during the winter months!

There's lots of technical info if you follow the link above to our website. But, the gist here is that our thermostat offers your car safety AND performance! The safety comes from the fact that our t-stat locks itself into the open position in the event that coolant temps become dangerously high or there is excessive air in the system. This is the opposite of the OEM t-stat and the vast majority of other aftermarket ones available. It is enough to save your car from a catastrophic overheating event! A thermostat that fails because of one of the above factors or defect and snaps shut will overheat your car very, very quickly, and on a Subaru with aluminum heads, this very often means warped cylinder heads and a huge expense in repair bills . The performance comes from our thermostat opening at a lower temperature than the OEM thermostat, and having different flow characteristics. Your average coolant temps will be lower, and the tendancy for temps to spike after you floor the throttle diminishes greatly (which is a big deal on the track, for both cooalnt and oil temps). The thermostat reacts quicker to changes in engine coolant temps. This is especially important if you have an aftermarket race radiator like a Koyo (which we carry, btw! hint hint ). Your ECU actually adjusts ignition timing based in part on coolant temps, so cooler coolant does translate directly into more power. Additionally, your engine oil and your turbo are also cooled by the engine coolant. A cooler, more efficient system is really a great thing in a turbo Subaru!!!

Okay... so here we go with the Group Buy!

GROUP BUY IS CLOSED! ORDERS HAVE SHIPPED.

ROSTER:

1) We're well over 20 people now! Please read post # 4 in this thread though before you place an order for a t-stat or if you already ordered one through the GB and didn't get our e-mail. We've had a slight delay issue!

...Sent the following out to everybody's e-mail address. PLEASE READ IF YOU PURCHASED A T-STAT THROUGH THE GROUP BUY!:

Quote:
Crucial Racing Customers --

First, sorry for the group e-mail here. We received A LOT of thermostat orders recently though so this is the best way to get in touch with all of you guys.

We saw we were running low on thermostats a couple of weeks ago and placed a production order for 100 units with our manufacturer at that time. Typically they take 1 to 2 weeks to arrive once we place the order. However, I called today to check up on them since they hadn't arrived yet, and it seems they are a little behind schedule and things have gotten delayed. We let them know that we are now in a crunch to receive them as we have many orders that we NEED to ship out as soon as possible, and we've been completely out of stock here for over a week now. We've changed our order to 2nd day shipping to try to get them here ASAP. According to our manufacturer, it will be between 1 week and 3 weeks MAX before we receive them here. We'll be shipping them out to our customers immediately when we receive them, of course.

Please let me know if this is a problem for you!!! We are happy to accommodate you in any way possible. We can, of course, cancel the order and refund your $. If you are okay waiting between 1 and 3 weeks to receive your order, everything will remain as-is and we'll ship it immediately when we get our stock. If there's something else that works better for you, we're open to suggestions!

I'm really, really sorry for this delay! Normally we keep our Coolsafe Thermostats in stock all of the time, and in the past 5 years of selling this product our manufacturer has NEVER taken longer than 1 to 2 weeks to get them to us. This really caught us off guard! We'll do our best to get them to you as soon as possible (and thanks in advance for your patience if you're okay waiting!), or will credit the $ back to your card immediately if you'd like to cancel. Sorry again for the trouble.

Sincerely,

Jeremy Siwek, Pres

That's right. As mentioned, the Group Buy closed December 31st. Our t-stats can be found at the normal page now, www.CrucialRacing.com/products/coolsafe.php

If you'd like to do a thermostat & a radiator cap and/or Samco hoses, I'd still be happy to set you up with a good discount though for getting multiple items. Just PM or e-mail me...
