Finally, I'm getting around to doing my SSAC WRX FMIC install on my LGT write up. This was a fairly easy install for the most part. The kit comes with most everything that you need: IC core, all polished stainless steel piping, couplers, T-bolt clamps, turbo to piping 90 degree coupler, coolant reservoir, and a WRX FMIC bumper support. I modified the stock bumper support and made a lower adapter bracket to mount the core. I only had to source out a few parts to complete the install. I had the pipe leading to the throttle body made due to the TB being in a different location than the WRX. I needed a 2.5 to 2.75 90 degree coupler to tie this made pipe into the TB. I had to buy the LGT BPV flange from Perrin (part#X-PSP-ENG-422, $69). And I had to but a 1.25" ID silicone 90 degree hose ( about $15 on ebay). The TB 90 degree boot and the TB pipe that I had made I do not have a cost on. I already had the boot and a friend of mine made the pipe out of a mandrel bent 2.5" ID exhaust pipe, so I don't have a cost on them. I paid $295 shipped to the door for the FMIC kit. You can get info on how and where form the HUGE threads on this kit on NASIOC and IWSTI. I made the lower support adapter from the flat stock steel that you can get at Lowe's or Home Depot. Don't have a cost here either since I had this laying around the house.
I dont have any specifics about cutting the fron bumper. I just cut a little at a time til it fit perfectly. I will post pictures later of the perfect dremel tool to do bumper cutting with;) The total install took me about a day and a half start to finish. I did a 20G, Prodrive EBCS, and injector install at the same time.;) They added about another day to the total install. And my perfect fit Walbro install will be a different write up for a different day.:) Anyway, time for some pictures.:icon_chee Feel free to ask any questions. I'll answer tham as fast as I can.

A few under the hood shots. All of the stainless steel piping came polished. I painted mine with Krylon Wrinkle black paint. Wanted a clean OEM look.

My 20G runs perfect knock correction at nearly 20psi. Even on back to back to back etc pulls. I have the TXS FMIC on my STI and the cores look nearly identical.

SSAC's website lists the kit at $795 and XS Power lists it on their site for $1150. Both are the same exact kit. Datalogging says that it does its job.

Awesome job! You even saved the foglights. Makes me want to abandon my AWIC project and change to a FMIC.
Nice job on the bumper beam, but did you do any reinforcement? When we took apart ItsMe's car for his FMIC, I felt that the beam does more than crash protection, I feel it helps stiffen the chassis from side to side. If I were to do a FMIC, I was thinking about making a smaller, yet very strong reinforcement/front chassis connector bar out of 2" square steel receiver stock.
Don't take this as criticism, I don't care about the bumper beam, but I do want a stiff chassis. I have been debating the FMIC vs. AWIC for quite some time, your install, along with the ItsMe version, is making more sense. I just bought an SZ49 turbo so I have to make a decision soon...thanks for sharing!

What 20g are you running?
Any dyno numbers for your complete set-up?

A few pictures of the intake area. I actually cut the intake tube out of the stock air box. This took quite a bit of time but turned out nice. It's amazing what you can do with a dremel , band saw, and a belt sander.
I didn't take pictures of this while making. (last year sometime) I actually made it to go in my STI as a Big MAF (was using the AEM CAI on the LGT at the time). I wish I would have took some.

Deadbolt TD06 20G IWG. No dyno numbers yet. Scott Siegel road tunes and only dynos for numbers. And we didn't have time that day to get on the dyno. But will return soon. His butt dyno guesstimates about 360-370whp @ 19psi. (he uses a dynapac)

This is the TB pipe that I had to have made along with a shot of the 90 degree silicone transition hose going to the TB.

Coolant over flow and battery clearance.
