Legacy05
Yeah so I went to get my oil changed, and turns out my throw out bearing is going ... I was outside of the car as it was being backed in and you can hear it booooo! Considering that I almost have 70k miles on the stock clutch, @ stage 2 power levels .. I can't complain ... so King of Parts hooked me up ... ordered a new stock clutch/pressure plate/pilot bearing/throw out bearing etc ...also needed new belts for the ac and alternator, the alternator belt was in pretty sorry shape. Check your belts people!!! The timing belt look ok, so I will get that changed soon .... I will take pictures of the clutch once it comes out ... I am curious to see how it looks

coolbluelb
My SPEC 2+ clutch with the stock dual-mass fly (no aftermarket yet when my clutch went out) has a better than stock feel, no slip and no chatter. Probably cost less than a stock unit too.
deimos
I loved mine too, I fault the drivers for not liking theirs heh ... then again, I might hate the new clutch heh. Wait until you get your new stock clutch. It will feel light and fantastic for the first couple of days then it will morph into the usual rock-heavy on-off switch we all love so much
HAMMER DOWN
Here's pics. of my clutch disk, 73k & over 50 runs down the drag strip. 5th gear roll-ons started to slip at 67k, 4th at 70k , 3rd at 71k and around the 73k mark 2nd & 1st. A week before I park my GT. I could dump my clutch at idle and she slip so bad, the car didn't stall. She just started to roll forward, nice and smooth. http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l293/HAMMERDOWNGT/Subaru/0921071747a.jpg http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l293/HAMMERDOWNGT/Subaru/0921071750.jpg http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l293/HAMMERDOWNGT/Subaru/0921071747.jpg http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l293/HAMMERDOWNGT/Subaru/0921071750a.jpg Mileage:331487 Retired/Sold

HAMMER DOWN
^^^^That's a long story, read here: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61199 The short of it, Sti 6MT, why? Bigger, badder, stronger and lot of clutch, flywheel, pressure plate options . Unlike the LGT & GT. Mileage:331487 Retired/Sold

HAMMER DOWN
^^^^^ Like mine:rolleyes: After seeing how bad it was. I was thankful it got me home the last week (500 miles) of work before shutdown. It was like drive a 80k lbs. tractor trail fully loaded. Very long time to get up to speed. tommypenguin
When my stocker goes out i will replace it with a stock clutch for sure. On my past car I went with an act flywheel/clutch combo. It was way to stiff for a daily rush hour traffic car. Not to mention with AC on it sucked getting it in gear off the line. After that experience, if the stocker is good enough for the power, there's no reason to swap it out.
tommypenguin
How much is a stock clutch replacement?
Legacy05
Contact King of Parts, the stock clutch was under 300 bucks shipped ... now .. if your flywheel is fubarbed like mine was, figure another 420 bucks or so.
Legacy05
also, a dealer will charge anywhere between 700-900 for the clutch swap ... I have a local tuner that is doing it for me (FAT - Forced Airt Technologies here in AZ) that is doing much cheaper than the dealer.
