godwhomismike
It's been a year since the last JDM Legacy "tuned by STI" hit Subaru's home-market showrooms, and like clockwork, the new version has been announced. The package is available for the Legacy Touring Wagon and the Legacy B4 sedan. The "tuned by STI" cars are based on the 2.0 GT spec.B package, which plants a 260-hp/253 lb-ft turbo four-cylinder underhood. From there, a full STI visual upgrade is applied, and additional enhancements/accessories include: * STI 18" wheels * STI leather key case * McIntosh audio system * HDD navigation system * STI springs and dampers * STI strut tower bar * Brembo brakes * STI sport muffler * STI-branded sill plates * STI-programmed ECU Power is delivered to all four wheels via a 5-speed auto with the Prodrive-developed Sportshift or a traditional 6-speed manual. As was the case last time, we can't get them here. The wagon looks great, of course, which makes us feel even worse, since we're now limited to just the Outback in that body style. http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/08/legacysti2008_003.jpg http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/08/legacysti2008_004.jpg http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/08/legacysti2008_002.jpg http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/08/legacysti2008_001.jpg http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/08/legacysti2008_006.jpg http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/08/legacysti2008_007.jpg

tallguylehigh
How did the power go DOWN from one Legacy Sti to another. This one is 260/253 while last years was 280/280. I think last years was based on the specB and this is the regular Legacy GT, but I'm not sure. Its very nice looking, although I like the wheels on the other Legacy STi better. godwhomismike
let's e-mail Subaru and ask them to release one in November w/ both auto and manual transmissions. Lets ask them for the quad tip exhaust, the suspension tweaks, the bigger brakes, the STI logos, WR Blue color choice, moodlighting/illuminated cup holders.... It's all right there in their part bins. Give us a appearence/handling/sport pack to make us and consumers excited about the product. .

psi365
Am I missing something here? Cause there is already a huge thread about these in which some of the australian members have a few including a wagon! http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57726 As for the hp, in that press release it says the car is based off of the 2.0 T, but the aussie guys say they have the 2.5 T............so who knows. SLegacy99
Why would they offer the Legacy STi in an auto if they dont offer the Impreza STi in an auto nor the Spec. B. in an auto?
tallguylehigh
Why would they offer the Legacy STi in an auto if they dont offer the Impreza STi in an auto nor the Spec. B. in an auto? Because they offer in the JDM and Oz versions.
