Hi everyone,

I am loving the GT still, but a little thing is annoying me and I hope there is a way around it.

Everytime I close the sun roof, it stops half way. Then I have to close it again. I'm guessing this is normal?

Does anyone know how to make the sunroof close with one press of the button rather than two? (Similar to disabling the seat belt chime)

I can live with it, but would really prefer one touch open / close of the roof!

Thanks,
Trev

Hi Trev,

How do you disable the seat belt chime?

Jason.

PS. I don't know how to make it close with just the one touch. I don't mind it halfway though...

It's been talked about here, but I think the verdict was that it would be neither easy nor practical.

Hold button down for 2 seconds, lift up slightly but do not let the finger off the button and then hold for 1 second. One touch FTW!

But seriosly... someone hack up that button and lezz find out how to do it. If someone can rig the turn signal to blink 3 times with a tap, we can surely hack the moonroof button to remove the pause in the middle.

Only an educated guess - I used to be a sparky in a previous life.

I suspect their are micro switches in the roof. They dedect when the roof reaches a certain point, then stops the motor.

if this is right, you need to disable the micro switch/s then you will have 1 touch.

I am happy with the sunroof mech so I am not about to pull the roof apart to find out.

A good wiring diagram will soon tell us though.

Any one have one?

Ahh, I've spent hours working on this!! The sunroof motor is controlled by a processor in the motor housing itself, not microswitches.(had the thing out and apart). I have built a circuit that will close the sunroof when you turn the ignition off (and provide power to the pwr windows for 20 seconds as well). I need to see if I can modify it to work with "one touch" though.......I'll keep you all posted.

O'rly... Do you have a walk through with all of this? I'd like to do the close sunroof when you turn the ignition off mod.
