Nawambo
Bought my manual Outback on November 20 and so far, I absolutely love it!!! - aside from eventually getting wider tires, I've been thinking of eventually putting some tough looking accessories - ie a grille or brush guard, maybe one to fit some rally style driving lights. I've scowered through the 'net and couldn't really find anything specifically for it. Anyone know where I could find something like that? Thanks, Nawar
champagne 2.5i
Try Primative Enterprises (http://www.writerguy.com/primitive/index.htm). They have a lot of rally stuff. I talked to them and the guys there said that a lot of the wrx stuff he can convert to OB is you ask. Good hunting
Guest *Jedimaster*
Red beast has the lower OB grille guard and I saw it last weekend-looks nice- I'm getting one!

Guest *Jedimaster*
I don't know that he has pix of it up yet, but if you look at this link you can see a pic of one: http://subaruwrxparts.com/05legacy.html It's about halfway down. Nawambo
I think its the Subaru standard grille gaurd for the Outback, I saw it at my dealer, and it's very "plastic-y" - I'm thinking of something a bit more aggressive, a bit more rallyish, that I can eventually put fog or driving lights on. Any other ideas? Thanks, Nawar

Nawambo
Ehhxactly, something like that, heh heh heh! Something like this... but that would fit and work on the Outback http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.customtruckproducts.com/IMG_Products/WES-30Durangochr.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.customtruckproducts.com/index.cfm%3Ffuseaction%3Dproduct.productpreview%26Product_Group%3DBrush%2520Guards&h=273&w=360&sz=19&tbnid=rljSSgRBNGQJ:&tbnh=88&tbnw=116&start=8&prev=/images%3Fq%3DSUV%2Bbrush%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26sa%3DN
Guest *Jedimaster*
I'd get one of those for mine. Someone was telling me last weekend that they saw a new OB with the older grab bar mounted on the rear hatch.

docsmile71
I have that brushguard. It's a plastic piece...nothing fancy. Right now, there's too much wind noise on the highway as it is...I think adding a real grille guard will further ruin the aerodynamics and create more wind noise. PGT
there is a guy down in Richmond that had bars custom made at a metal shop for his WRX wagon. They bolt to the front subframe.....ran around $300 I think. I know there are some pics online......trying to find where I saw them. EDIT: Found it: http://www.get-fast.net/r5/pics/img_6420.jpg The guy's name is 'Otto' - a good friend of mine is a buddy of his. I can track down what/when/where/how much for that guard if you want.
Guest *Jedimaster*
Isn't that the guy who got tired of his car getting bumped by parallel parkers?
PGT
Isn't that the guy who got tired of his car getting bumped by parallel parkers?
I dunno. I know he does some rally and auto-x events, so he put them on to keep from bashing up the plastic.
Nawambo
The third pic down is along the lines of what I'm thinking, something one could take off whenever they like. I don't like the Richmond one as much, too low. Unfortunately, the one I like seems to be in Australia!
Guest JessterCPA
They should rename this one the "Garden State Parkway Bar"
