Light Bar Installation *With Pictures*

Recommended Posts

Hey Everybody!

I thought I would share some pictures of my Light Bar Installation just incase anyone else was thinking, or wanted to do the same! If anyone has any questions or tips for better work feel free to chip in! I am currently waiting for a rally bar type addition to come out and replace this with some Hella Lights or something of the sort, for now...I have this!

That looks awesome man! Thanks for sharing. Do you have a wiring diagram write up or anything to go along! Would be a HUGE help as I'm looking to do this to.

Here's what I used for my Hellas:

Allows the aux lighting to come on with high beams or be switched on manually.

I'm gonna post up a wiring diagram for mine, but i'm sure it's the same thing or at least along the lines of andrews! I'll try to find some pics of my bar at night, i should have them somewhere...if not...gotta give me at least a good 5 months considering it's daytime 24/7 right now in alaska for a while :p

A tip is to take the current for the lamps from the alternator and not the battery.

Otherwise some voltage drop occurs over the wire from alternator to battery and may cause the battery to not get charged as quickly as it should.

Where you pull that from? Does the alt put out a constant voltage or does it float based on a voltage sense wire (this is how my Mercury Cougar did it)

This is my signature, there are many like it but this one is mine

Main wire from alternator, and the voltage regulator is in the alternator so the best possible voltage is there.

Lights bars have come a long way the past few years and the prices have fallen through the floor. I installed this 20" one my old Wrangler about a month ago and man does it turn night into daylight. I was skeptical because it is so cheap, but it works great and if a rock breaks it, its only $30 lol....

Guys, I apologize for the delay, had a busy weekend. Here are the pictures of the light bar on my Wrangler. The ambient lighting looks different because these were taken with my iPhone....but all were taken within 2 minutes start to finish.
