When I set the emergency brake earlier this week, the rod connected to the button broke right above the internal toothed lock washer. The spring propelled the button forward, the spring came out of the housing, and I can't set the brake to park anymore.
What do I need to do to have a functional emergency/parking brake again?
1997 Legacy Outback GT
Just replaced the 4 struts which had almost 190k on them. I suspect that I need to replace the pads for the e brake as well.
