Legacy Spec B Pics and Parts List

I don't work for Renick, but I thought this was page had enough worthwhile info. to post.

The link below has a bunch of great pictures of the Spec B suspension and also gives the complete parts list with both prices and part numbers. Renick Motorsports is selling the Strut and Spring Kit for $1,610 and the Aluminum Arms (front and back) for $1,394. That's about $3k for the complete setup. Pricey indeed, but not that bad considering your are changing almost everything in the suspension except the swaybars.

I agree the parts are pricey, but that's what you get buying from the dealer. The Bilstein B6 Sport shocks are available on the European site, but there is no pricing yet. When they become available in the U.S. they will likely be much cheaper.

Not much alternative to the dealer for the suspension arms themselves. The WRX aluminum front control arms are less than half the price of the very similar Legacy ones, bummer. They should be lighter and come with stiffer bushings that should increase the responsiveness of the handling. However, I don't know if it is really worth it given the price. Would be great to find out the weight difference between the steel and aluminum parts.

In any case, those were the most detailed pictures I have seen of the Spec B suspension, which others might find interesting.

There will be less expensive options by the time they will need replacing. Probably not as good but less expensive.

You can also have the struts rebuilt by Bilstein for about $60/strut plus hipping both ways to SoCal.

i am assuming a 10lbs difference on each control arm, which does not do a lot for the weight savings on the car, but 10lbs of unsprung weight does a lot for suspension.

the million dollar question, is will this setup fit a wagon?

Everything should work except the rear springs. If you need a wagon Bilstein setup, I have one for sale in the classifieds.

Really? That seems high to me, but if it's really 10 pounds per corner, that's pretty significant. Also, would the whole 10 pounds really be unsprung? I would think of it as partially sprung.

Now, what I really want to know is which STi Pink springs are the best match for the USDM Bilsteins.

The two million dollar question is will the arms fit an Outback XT ?

I priced the al suspension pieces on Subaroparts.com and got $1416 plus $170 in shipping.
