2006 Outback 2.5XT Limited w/5spd manual 78Kmiles
I know, I know. These happen and people go running to the internet freaking out. I'm one of them.
Dealer's service department is quoting $9,000 to $12,000 for repairs on a vehicle that's basically worth that. I love it, and want to keep it, but I simply cannot justify (much less afford) repairing a car at a cost which rivals its overall value. Especially since if a single filing of metal gets left in there somewhere, or if I'm just unlucky, it could happen all over again.
Can anyone recommend a shop in greater Boston, or within reasonable distance that could perform this repair competently without putting me in massive debt?
My only other option is to try to sell as-is for about 25% of what it was worth a week ago.
Thanks so much.
