Selling my 2005 Legacy GT 5speed, 46,000 miles. $8,000. I am firm on this price (Kelly Blue Book is $12,070).
It has been diagnosed with a spun rod bearing
. Accelerating on an on-ramp by my house when it happened. Drove right back to my house and towed to the shop the next day. Other than that, everything is in great working order. Engine still starts up and runs, but I'd advise against it as it could do further damage (I'm sure you experts will back this up).
It recently (43,000 miles) had a brand new OEM VF52 turbo
and Invidia catless downpipe
installed by RS Motors in Burnsville, MN. It made 247 hp and 276 tq on a mustang dyno with a custume tune by the same guys. Banjo bolt has been removed (the cause of the original turbo failure). Brand new Continental DWS All Season tires put on at 44,000 miles.
I'm the second owner. Bought used at 21,000 miles from a dealer. Usually ride the bus to work downtown, so only driven occasionally on the weekday and on weekends.
I'm sad to see it go (especially since the upgrades only 3,000 miles ago), but with my wife and I are starting a family soon, we just can't front the repair bill and I'm not mechanically proficient enough to try to tinker with it. I'm afraid my days with a stick and sporty car are gone. Accord AT, here I come.
For those mechanically gifted (or know someone who is), you could throw a new STi shortblock in there and still come out ahead of KBB value. Obviously, I'm not looking to make a profit. I just won't take what's less than what I owe.
PM me if interested. I'm based in Eden Prairie, MN. Will post pics when I get home from work.
