Hi Gents,
I need to change my passenger side valve cover gaskets. I'm curious about the 2 hoses that attach to the top of the cover. One seems to be a coolant line and the other seems to be vacuum. Do I need to disconnect these to remove the cover?
Thanks much

They are both breather lines.
Yes, they may be dry so be careful not to break them. May be a little PB Blaster sprayed on them will help
Here' the inside.
You'll need to replace the oem hose clamp.

Wow! Great reply! Thank you!
This job looks dead easy with the engine out. My biggest concern WAS getting the cover back on without screwing up the wet gasket sealant. If it seems too tight I'll just remove the engine mount nuts and hoist that side up.
Thanks again,
TC

Put them on a dry clean surface, no sealant, not needed.

You will need some RTV ultragrey or fujibond for this on the GT. Look up the vacation pics.

I just did mine and I only used silicone to hold the gasket in place while installing... other then that you dont really need it...

this is the truth. rtv should only be used a little between the rubber gasket and the valve cover to hold it in place while positioning the valve cover back on the engine.
