Nope, alternator stays mounted. Picture shows after the intake is lifted.
I was trying to get to the PCV valve and figured I had to talk the intake off. After removing all pipework around it I experienced the issue of it not lifting, and after some struggling I discovered this bolt.
Remove the throttle body and then you can lay on the top of the engine and sneak a 10mm wrench on the bolt from the direction of where the intercooler would be.
I'm pretty sure that I did not re-install the bolt after I put it back together.... and yes I changed the intake->TGV gaskets too (since they were the old style).
