I've had all my stage 2 stuff laying in my garage for a couple months now waiting to be put on. Next week is spring break from school and I'm going to take a couple days off from work, just for sh!ts and giggles. Working 40 hrs a week plus 30 hrs in school a week, being married and a house....not much time for the car.

Anyway, This is my first turbo car but not anywhere near my fastest car (fully modded NA '01 Camaro SS takes that title). I've been looking around at "how to wrap" the exhaust parts I'm about the throw on. I have a catless DP (putting a high flow cat on for noise reduction and smell) and a sti upper.

My sti upper has the heat shield on it and I'm wondering if I should remove that and wrap the pipe, leave it as is, or wrap it with the heat shield on it? On my DP, I plan on wrapping half of it, at least for now, because I'm having a shop install the cat at the end of the DP.

Something else I was wondering is exactly how to wrap. I bought some titanium wrap and I was reading on DEI's website they suggest only 1/4 of overlap but pretty much everywhere else I look everyone does 1/2 overlap.....which one should I do? I also read that this titanium wrap doesn't need to be soaked, true? Will it tighten up more if I do? I know it's not fiberglass so I'm assuming that's why.

Take the heatshield off and wrap the pipe.

Get the downpipe welded before wrapping it.

I would wrap it 1/2 overlap. Make sure to soak the wrap in water. It wraps tighter as it dries.

I will wrap the DP only halfway for now, as I plan on getting the cat installed like the Cobb catted DP, it'll be fine. I hope to get the cat intalled asap but it depends on several things, that's why I am going to wrap half of it.

I'll do the other two things tho, thanks.
