Hello everyone, I have recently bought 2010 Legacy 2.5i pearl white. I want to start doing some exterior mods starting with tail light tints but I havent seen much on this forum that i like. I was wondering if anybody tried to do a reverse tail light tint (with just the clear part tinted to a grey-ish tone) Or just darken the top part and left the clear bottom part?

Be prepared for the can of worms that you just opened.
Liability, legality, personal choice, safety, visibility, ugh......

Haha I agree with the above. I'm new to the forum as well and I've been looking for advice on tail light tinting. I have an 09 legacy. I went & bought the spray can for tail light tinting yesterday & this will be my weekend project. I'll report back as to how it comes out.

OMG YOU'RE GONNA DIE AND KILL EVERYONE AROUND YOU!
For reals though... it's illegal, just so you are aware. I don't care what you do, but that's important information.

This thread is destined for 300 posts about nothing. Just like every other tail light tint thread.
Here's the cliffnotes:
OP: I want to tint my tail lights.
Poster1: Tinting tail lights are illegal.
RandomPosters: lulerskaterz watevr tint'n tailz r cool
Repeat last two posts until thread reaches 300 posts.

Before this thread goes any farther, OP, please do a search on tinting tail lights. You will find all the info you need there to satisfy your curiosity.
My suggestion: take the spray tint back to the auto parts store and get a can of plasti-dip. There are far more significant aesthetic mods you can do with it. Then do a search on plasti-dip and read until your hearts content.

For the record, this one is a little different. Hopefully we have nipped it in the bud before the sh!t starts flying.

Yes I understand and I have gone through many threads on this site before starting my first. Ive seen all the crap that the other posts have and I dont care about anything other than HOW WILL IT LOOK!? Especially on the pearl white. I have a great picture of how I want my car to look like (plasti dip involved ) But I just want some more Ideas on the tail light tint.
Oh and thanks everyone for the warm welcome!!

Welcome!
It'll look great after you're rear-ended at dusk.
Or not, your choice.

Go to the Lamin-x website. They have lots of pics of their overlays in varying shades. I would recommend doing a film versus a spray tint. That way you can test it, and always remove or redo it if you want. This ebay seller is selling a piece that is 12"x24". More than enough for experiments on your car, and it won't break the bank.

This is what I did many moons ago, just smoked the clear part underneath the red. Still illegal but most cops dont even notice, and it looks a hell of a lot better then tinting the whole tail light .

Thanks a lot guys, yours is pretty much what i was aiming for 20LEGGY10. The only thing is I am looking more for a kind of grey color, like this legacy I found in other forums:
