A friend of mine (member on here) bought my 08 spec.b and is driving it to PA right now. All of a sudden the car lost power when he was cruising on highway and cruise, check engine light came up as well as some other strange light that looks like a plank with a chizle coming at an angle at it. It's a yellow light that I saw before somewhere but never on my car.

He reset the ecu and the car starts now but runs very rough like its only running on 3 cylinders. No lights on the dash.

I am thinking its either a coil pack issues or injector.

Before he drove the car back home he swapped in dw850 used injectors and had the car tunned by a very good and reputable tuner that tuned my car before many times. The car ran great.

So what does that light mean and what could this be?

I can't even find a picture of that light anywhere online.

how did he reset the ECU and not know how to pull the code?

Autozone's and others do have readers and will pull code for free... since this is important why did he not head there ASAP!

The car is being towed to a Subaru dealt that is closed right now. He unplugged the negative cable from the battery to reset it.

It was one of the injectors not plugged in all the way. Clip was a tad loose. All good now. Just as I thought:-).

Glad it worked out, but I am still curious about the chizle light... what was that?

Lesson should be...if you get a CEL after doing something. Go back over what you messed up.

If it ran fine before you fixed something, and now run's crappy, go back and unfix what you screwed up.

Basic lesson most of us learned at a young age.

Yep that the way I go about it. If there is an issue I go to the last thing I messed with.

I'm pretty curious about that mystery light. I've forgotten to plug the maf in a few times. Pretty embarrassing when I do it at the shop and one of the other techs come over and figure it out. The one that always gets me is hose going to the bpv.
