I got working on the light today and I realized that the LED replacement for the OEM bulb wouldn't really work unless I wanted to file down the tabs that it attaches to. As you can see, the OEM bulb has square loops and the LED has round loops
Here is how I wired it up, I soldered the panel LED to the tabs and I plan to 3M tape the LED in place. I also temporarily soldered a 9v connector so that I can test it. I also cut off the other wires and sealed the exposed wires since I don't need them.
For your reference here you can see which side is the Positive and Negative since that matters for LEDs. Also you will have to wire it so that black OEM wire is neg/ground and the brown wire is posi/power
It works and is pretty bright. I also found that the switch in the light works but in order for it to turn off, the end of the light with the wire connections has to be higher than the other end. So that'll make mounting it in the car interesting.
Just a test to see how bright it actually is, it lit up the room quiet well
