Listen to this story. So I have a 2010 legacy that I bought as certified on January 20th. Two weeks later I purchased and installed a OEM remote start for the vehicle, took it to the dealer and had the fobs programmed. Here comes the zinger..... on February 1st I bought a 2013 legacy. On February 9th I once again purchased and installed a OEM remote start, took it to the dealer and had the fobs programmed. Now both '10 and '13 have same part numbers installed. Well, in the mail comes the recall notice for the remote start key fobs. Its only for the 2010!? I bring both cars in and they refuse to fix the 2013, they say its not effected. They say only the ones equiped with remote start from the factory are affected. OK, well I installed the remote start in the 2010, clearly that wasn't done at the factory. Both remote start fobs are clearly the same, even all the FCC id crap on the back. Both model numbers on the receivers that are under the dash boards are the same. How can they refuse to fix this. I've called Subaru of America and they were no help, noone understands that just they key fob is faulty not the year of the car or where it was installed. It doesn't make any sense! They can't even give me a list of part numbers that are effected.
