So, I believe I've done everything that I was supposed to do to wire in aftermarket fog lights with new switch but I can't the things to work... I'm trying to wire it with a relay so it's legit but it just won't work. I've got the lights grounded, with the + running to the appropriate connector on the relay, which is also grounded and connected to the appropriate connector. To test it out before I run full wiring, I've got the switch connected to the appropriate connector on the relay and, per the instructions, connected to the positive terminal of the battery. The relay also calls for one of the connectors to be wired to the positive terminal on the battery as well. Switch does not work but I do however get a noise from the relay when I flick the switch. Also, there is a fuse connected to the line that runs from the relay to the positive terminal on the battery and it came like that. The relay is 30 amp, 5 prong and I'm using 12 gauge wire.

I hope all that makes sense. Seems like every time I take on a menial job, I find a way to make it way too much of an issue... Any help would be great.

Thanks!

Your relay should be wired thusly: http://www.the12volt.com/relays/relaydiagram47.html

Your switch should be going to 86, output to the fog lights to 87. Fused power to the relay goes to 30, and ground to 85.

Thanks! I've got the "diagram" that came with the materials but I'll go back and check with this to make sure.
