So I am thinking about smoking out my tail lights and am not settled on what method to choose yet. I've read up a lot on vinyl tints and they seem to be the easiest way. Any cons to doing it this way?

At least vinyl overlays are reversable and you get a very even tinting across the whole lense.

Cons: it makes it more difficult for fellow motorists to see your brake lights. It's illegal. You risk putting yourself at risk of being at fault if you get rear ended.
Pros: looks cool?

^Yes, this, thus the reversable aspect. If you are gonna do it, only go the lightest possible, I'd prefer to be able to see you put your brakes on.

When I build/modify things, I like to use genuine parts. Smoking tail lights would be no different. Have you tried using genuine smoke?

I would only go with a light charcoal color. I don't even like the look of straight up black tail lights. And as far as being reversible, thats what is kinda selling me on the whole vinyl deal lol

Go to the doctor, tell him/her that you have a headache, they give you a card and you go to the dispensary for your "medicine". Isn't that how you lucky bastards do it over there on the West Coast?

Yeah something like that. Unfortunately now I am a responsible professional with a good career, job, house and family. I actually quit that about 17 years ago. I embibe once every few years when me and the boys do our annual mountain biking weekend in Tahoe, but really don't enjoy it the way I used to. My days of waking up with doobie, working while high, and doing bong hits before bedtime are long gone.
