Hello everyone, i recently bought a 05 LGT, and today i discovered little crack in the stock intercooler, its very little and looks like its only starting. I do see a tiny bit of oil around it.

Im not sure what to do, what are my options? sounds like a good excuse to go aftermarket? Im not too familiar with turbo's since this is my first turbo car. Whats better? a replacement stock intercooler?
Or a aftermarket Top mount.
Or even an aftermarket front mount?

Im afraid the crack will get worse really soon so i have to decide fast thats why im asking for help, on what would be my best option if you were in my place. Thanks

Here i have a picture (not mine) just for reference to what im talking about. The circle in red is where the crack is on my intercooler.

$290 gets you a new OEM one

Don't buy a cheap TMIC - If you plan on going stage 3, get a Process West. If not going stage 3, get the "bulletproof TMIC kit" by BarManBean.

Also, what is that brass fitting by your turbo to IC?

Depends on what you wanna do with the car. Are you going to stay stock? If you're not going to do any other mods, an aftermarket TMIC won't do much for you without a tune. You can usually find a used stock TMIC in the classifieds here for relatively cheap.

If you're wanting to do some mods, it could be an excuse to go stage 2 and pick up a DP, TMIC, and a tune.

Yes basically im going to be stock for quite a while because I'm in college and don't have too much spare money.

So basically there is no point of getting an aftermarket TMIC unless i plan on modding it?

short term fix, I would probably JB weld it.

I JB welded my OEM TMIC on the sides to prevent the end tanks coming undone from stg 2 and so far im at over 80k miles and no prob.
