Lurked here since October when I got the car, time for a first post... I need some suggestions/advice.
My LGT is going to meet Watkins Glen here in the beginnings of May. I've been around there many MANY times in my 86 944 (the regular track beater toy) and in my former VR6 Jetta GLI. I'm taking the Leggy this time since it's a much nicer ride up there from the 'Burgh, it's more of a horsepower track
, and I need to stretch this car's legs and learn what we can do together!
We are nearly bone stock right now and I know that has to change for multiple reasons. I've budgeted for some enhancements so help me spend my loot! It's my daily driver and often the whole family (Wife and 15mo so far) hauler so those duties can't be hampered with some modding.
(yeah, thats bout it)
Potential shopping list that I'd love some feedback on:
(Seem to be a nice way to go on stock dampers, or do I replace those too)
*Brake Fluid Flush?
(with what if not stock, but not interested in going super blue, etc...)
(has anyone tortured their stock pads to fading/destruction, I did on my VW @ the Glen)
(Thinking Invidia, Lighter weight, I need some growl/street cred, NOT looking to wake the neighborhood)
(I honestly know nothing of these toys, but it sure seems the way to go
*SOME sort of front end bracing
(The steering feedback in these cars is awfully weak, I need more wheel communication but know I won't get to BMW levels)
I've watched some real nice builds on here take shape. If I have a style, it would be "Euro+" as said in the VW/Audi/BMW world... as in the factory could of made it this way in mods and streetablilty. I'm lookin to get there in the performance end and leave it alone w/in the next month or so!
Thanks for any input!
