Thinking of using a pair of glasspacks welded up to the oem connecting pipe and tip for a little more noise. Has anyone done this? I searched but found no exact matches or vids. 2.5i n/a

I suppose it would work, most of the available mufflers for our cars are similar in design, only way better quality.
Just trying to save money?

What i'd do is a decat, then add a glasspack before the split. I was actually thinkign of doing just that for a few weeks now.

Maybe you can remove the resonator, but idk if you will get a drone

its pretty raspy with no resonator, even with stock mufflers.

I would like to leave the cats and resonator alone. But to answer the question, yes some more sound for as little cost as possible. Glasspacks and thrush mufflers seem to give the lowest tone to my ears. Maybe even cut and gut the legacy mufflers.... What about gutting the cat? Any sound improvement? Ebay mufflers? (yeah I said it) M2?

For the price of that kit, you could easily get a pair of magnaflow mufflers with tips and get the installed. Sound better and last longer than glasspacks.
