Hi folks, I am brand new to the community and a brand new old subaru owner! I recently just purchased this car for a very low price and I love it. I was wondering if anybody could tell me the best rim/tire combo for this car in the snow. It currently just has its stock steel wheels. Would these be best with some snow tires or should I get a wheel with a greater width or diameter?

Keep the steel wheels, and utilize the stock tire size to maintain your speedo readings.

There is never, truly, such a thing as a cheap Subaru. I got mine for "cheap" and its a money pit!

Welcome, and hope you have better luck than I do.

Yeah just get the stock size in a snow tire. Maybe buy some used steel wheels somewhere so you don't have to pay to get the tires swapped every winter. Or if you plan on getting other summer wheels and tires next spring then just use what you got for wheels.
