So yesterday, I finally got around to putting in the tribeca sway bar that I bought off a member here. In the process of dropping the exhaust mani I managed to mess up the front O2 sensor (I remembered to unplug the sensors, but forgot to unclip the wire from a holder that had a death grip on it
. When I couldn't separate the manifold from pipe with the cats in it, I thought screw it, I'll just drop everything and popped the exhaust out of the tab that holds it up between the two cats. Instead of falling to the ground like I was expecting, it stopped halfway, held up by the wires in the O2 sensor. That wasn't good
Now it throws CEL P0032, which is Front oxygen (A/F) sensor heater circuit high input so I probably broke a connection somewhere. I stopped by the dealership and uap/napa today and was quoted ~$400 by both of them for a replacement sensor
I know I need to fix this, but just how bad would it be to drive with a bad sensor?
Also, I found some cheaper sensors online here
(I'm thinking either the first Bosch or first Denso one, but I don't know if the Denso is heated) or the second one down on the attached photo from SGP. Does anyone have any experience with these brands and more importantly, are these the right ones? When I was at the dealership, they said they had to have my VIN to figure out which sensor I needed because there lots of different sensors between similar models. Thanks for the help!
