where do people get access to JDM drivetrains? i know they're out there, i just don't know where they come from. my wrx had a JDM trans/rear diff, my "friend", who's really an asshole, claims he's putting a JDM wrx drivetrain into his forester, and i read about lots of JDM wrx or legacy gt drivetrains. so you can laugh i'll tell you my idea, stuffing a JDM legacy gt cvt drivetrain into my '11 outback.

Installing a CVT into the car will also require you to get a wiring harness that's suitable, the correct TCU and even then you will discover that you may need to do some additional mods due to the fact that cars in Japan are RHD.

It won't be impossible, but it will be expensive. It will be cheaper to wait a year or two and get an outback with the CVT gearbox instead.
