{It's Finished}-scroll down
I have done the LED dash mod but I am not satisfied with the results. I used the white LEDs after removing the black dot matrix and green dye layer from the rear of the gauges. After a year or so one of the LEDs is now flashing like a strobe for the first 5 minutes after starting the car. It's annoying as hell. Besides, After removing the dot matrix layer the light intensity is uneven. Also, 2 of the LEDs I ordered appear to be a different color temperature and don't match the rest. I was thinking that since I have to pull it apart anyway, why not try something new. I was thinking of removing the cathode rings from 2 of these 12vdc 120mm computer fans with a Dremel and using them for the back-light. It looks like they will fit. Dimming won't be an option but I don't care.

If you could make a mod to better illuminate the miles counter would be good :P it's as if a bulb is blown and annoys me constantly

The odometers do not have their own light. I might as well use one (or 2) of my still working LED's and mod that too. Good call.

After measuring, It doesn't look like the 120mm will fit. An 80mm will work.

New plan. I searched and can't find 80mm dual cold cathode tubes in white. It's the small ring in white that I can't get unless I get the 120mm dual version (just for the tiny ring) and a separate 80 mm version. I'm going with surface mount LED rings instead. They're cheap too. $17.98 for all shipped. I just ordered them. They each come in packs of 2.

angel eyes would be insanely bright, potentially generate too much heat for this also?
