2012 Legacy Limited with the HK Premium Sound System (HU Model PE627U1). Has anyone found out if this HU supports video for adding a back up camera? Also has anyone installed an aftermarket video set for BU Camera, and if so, what monitor did you use and where did you put it. Trying to figure out a clean install for a BU Camera.....at 5'4" my lady is having issues seeing out the back when needed. Thanks in advance for any info....

I doubt that screen will support video. You can install a gentex rear view mirror with the integrated video screen.

Thought of doing a mirror but she wants a larger screen and has the mirror with Homelink and such. Thanks for the suggestion.

Looks like you'll be in the market for a new double DIN headunit then.

I'm currently looking at the Pioneer AVH-P2400BT, $350 from Crutchfield. The rear veiw camera add on is $200, pretty steep IMO, but $550 total wouldn't be terrible...

Let us know what you end up with.

You probably could just grab an ebay backup cam and hook it up to the HU instead of buying the one that is an acessory to the HU. I'm looking for one for my sony double din.

I just helped my buddy install one of these in his 4Runner. It's a nice HU for only $350. If you get it, be sure to do the parking brake hack so all functions are available while in motion.

I was wondering about that - on the cars101 site, he says "the Moonroof package includes a rear view camera that displays in the auto dimming rear view mirror with homelink on Premium models, but there's no compass like in previous year. On the Limited, the camera displays in the large stereo screen"

Which really sounds like the H/K stereo in the limited can take a video input... I am guessing he meant to say that the ones with the NAV display to the NAV unit, but who knows - looks like one of the dealers has a 2.5i limited with moonroof on the lot so maybe I'll swing by and take a look...

These have a small screen in the mirror that disappears when the screen goes off. My friend's Tacoma had that

Those mini screens are good, but not great.
