This forum is great, but the info is so widespread. I seem to find info for one thing while I am searching for another and later cant retrace my steps. Maybe my search techniques need a tune up? Also consider that "value" is subjective, price is what you pay, value is what you feel get for that price.

I was looking for advice/input on how you all make the most power gains with as few mods as possible or even a break down of average gains per mod?

I have started with AP and now I am trying to form a plan for more.

From what i think i know; upgrade TMIC, upgrade DP and maybe axel backs along with a tune to get you at or close to 300 hp/350 tq? I guess that is my goal and thought this could also morph into a table of mods with expected gains? I know that some are dependent on others so a straight one mod to one power gain may not be exactly clear. Let me know what you think, thanks.

The numbers you want - include bigger turbo, injectors, fuel pump, and BV.

Don't waste your money on axle backs...makes no sense if you want those numbers. You have to do the whole TBE.

Wait a bit and RacerX should have a charge pipe with his awesome TMIC (biased )

Best advice: Grab a beer, sit down when you have time and read up the build threads of some (there are others who have a wealth of knowledge, just no build threads themselves) of the guns. They are great for the trial and error and even have some funny parts to keep it interesting! Here are the links to some of the builds:

Blizzard's http://legacygt.com/forums/showthrea...al-171231.html

pfoyle's: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthrea...lp-200593.html

acumenhokie's http://legacygt.com/forums/showthrea...er-158725.html

blklgt05's http://legacygt.com/forums/showthrea...al-193282.html

islandborn's http://legacygt.com/forums/showthrea...8g-194202.html

Have a good time. Its a great car, great platform, and limited.

Sorry not sure about 5th gen but 4th gen should be similar, the gist of it is that TBE+tune will get you 90% of your power on stage 2. Other additional parts (BOV, TMIC, EBCS, air intake) are smaller incremental upgrades on stage 2 but are a lot more helpful at stage 3 and beyond when you're pushing more power.

Wrong forum dude!! This here be 5th Gen LGT.

From what I heard, Stage III 4th Gen is like Stage II 5th Gen. I think only a few have gone as far as Stage II+ with very, very respectable gains resulting.

Blizz's power mods are on par with what i am talking about and i believe those are his #'s (314/346)?

Also eckseleven & pfoyle seem to have done similar too?

Last summer I had a 4thgen guy approach me at a meet claiming there was"no possible way" my stage2 lgt was making numbers I claimed on my dyno sheets. After seeing a build list of his car, essentially stage3 with all the upgrades he had performed, he was only at 310hp/360ish for torque. All that cost him well over 5grand id assume so it made my day.
For "value" id say go tmic first, but if you want some grunt and sound start with a catless downpipe and some axlebacks. You can check out mine over in the 5thgen photo section if you want, not taken as far as some of the other guys since I havent felt its neccessary yet since I dont have my car paid off yet.

I have only an AVO cat-back but I requested an aggressive tune. My numbers seem a bit high IMO, but there are some BrenTuned guys that have similar numbers. Blizzard and I have been tuned on the same dyno by the same guy. I haven't been through his build thread in a while so I'm not sure what mods he has.

I think your goals are within reach with minimal hardware and a decent tune.

FWIW, this is the order I plan to do things and this is very similar to the path many have taken. I have yet to do the first item on the list, but at the moment I am investing in a few handling and power support upgrades like ss braided brake lines, swaybars, springs, gauges, aftermarket BPV and the soon to be here Racer-X charge pipe. I have placed an approximate dollar amount next to each of the items on my list.

1) Cobb AP ($600) and flash Stage I with stock exhaust
2) CBE ($700) and remain on Stage I
3) Catted DP ($400) and flash Stage II
4) TMIC ($600) and Pro-Tune ($300??)
5) Injectors, Fuel Pump and Turbo Upgrade (will probably come after the first motor rebuild) and obviiously another Pro-Tune.

Like I said, there are many "support" items that I am working toward right now that really don't require a tune, but by the time I get to Stage I, then Stage II, and beyond, it will be good to have those in place already as they will help to strengthen the reliability and power output of the various tunes. And when I actually get there, there shouldn't be any suprise necessary upgrades that increase the costs much over those found on the list.

You have a very optimistic dyno chart and a visit to another dyno would probably confirm that

I've been amazed at how much you can get out of a stage 1 tune. I owned an 06 LGT with a very basic stage 2 set up and my own tune. My 2010, with my stage 1 tune, pulls much harder. I'm very happy with my 5th gen.

What does a stage 2 STI (2008+) make on that dyno? 350hp? Cause that would be an optimistic number for an sti
