I have a 2005 LGT with 80k on it. The car has a Cobb AP but is otherwise stock.

Previously, the turbo was never very noticeable noise wise. Now, if I get on it I get some turbo noise when it spools up and I get an overrun sound after I let off. The noise sounds more like air rushing than turbo whine but it's a bit hard to tell. The car seems to pull as strongly as it ever did.

Any ideas? Could it be an an air leak of some sort or is this something worse?

Could be a leak - I would start by checking the the turbo/IC connection, the turbo/inlet connection and the throttle body/IC connection.
